Everything here was wonderful -- the room was remarkably warm for the weather (about 0-3 degrees celsius when I was there), but the warmest of all was the lovely sister Deniz, who gave me a welcome that would thaw a winter. I arrived close to 10pm, and she gave me a generous hug, along with bread and jam and cheese.
My room was spacious, the bathroom almost absurdly large, and the bed so comfortable... I slept so well every evening. Sister Deniz also set out a wonderful breakfast spread, with the enthusiastic company of the dogs she has rescued. She is doing many wonderful things for both people and animals in her community, and her home is so lovely -- please stay here if you go to Kars! You don't even have to plan anything -- Deniz helped me arrange everything with a driver to see the Ani ruins and Lake Çıldır for a very reasonable price. Don't contact other guides!
I wish I'd taken photos of the house, but please see the photos of things that are nearby -- Kars Castle and cafes are all within 10 minutes' walking distance, and the airport can be reached within 15-20 minutes by car. I loved every moment of my time here, and recommend this to anyone interested in going to Kars!

Not a bad place for this place. Arpada is a Turkish outback, but I don’t put any negativity into this definition. And finding decent, well-equipped apartments in this place is lucky.
The only negative was that there was practically no hot water, we arrived in the evening - there was none, we left in the morning - there was none either. I hope this is not the norm. For the rest, I recommend it.
