The hostel cleanliness is one of the best I've ever been to. You can see the staffs cleaning the place all the time.
The hostel staffs looked very busy all the time and not very friendly. A local frontdesk lady was quite rude, not only to me and also to other travellers. (I met other travellers in the bus terminal, they(2of them) had same experience too.) Kinda feel like we are bothering them(staffs) when we have any questions.
The volunteer guy from Algeria was very nice and helpful, he was the only helpful guy.
They have a very cute kitty.
Not really social vibe here, probably is because the common space is too huge plus the hostel staffs are not friendly.
Dogs were barking all night.
Would recommend for a clean stay. For me, I wouldn't come back.

I recently stayed at the YMCA Hotel in Penang, and overall, my experience was quite satisfactory for a 2-star establishment. Overall, If you’re looking for a budget-friendly option in Penang with a central location, YMCA Hotel is a solid choice. Lokalizacja jest bardzo dobra. Przystanek autobusowy i centrum handlowe znajdują się w pobliżu, dzięki czemu można spacerować po Georgetown i znaleźć miejsca, w których można zjeść. Hotel jest klimatyzowany, a prysznic ma świetne ciśnienie wody. W obiekcie dostępny jest szampon i mydło do ciała, a suszarka do włosów jest mocna i dobra. Toaleta i prysznic są wspólne, ale tak jest w większości tego typu obiektów noclegowych.
Co mi przeszkadzało to to, że chociaż pokój wyglądał na czysty, na prowadnicach drzwi do niego było mnóstwo włosów i innych rzeczy. Ponieważ drobne szczegóły nie są czyszczone, obraz ten może nie być odpowiedni dla osób, którym na tym zależy. Powierzchnia czyszczona jedynie lekko. Zameldowanie odbywa się samodzielnie. To rozwiązanie jest odpowiednie dla osób, które są do niego przyzwyczajone, ale może być mylące dla osób, które robią to po raz pierwszy.

I really liked staying at this hostel. The owner was very kind, friendly, and always helpful, which made me feel comfortable and welcomed from the moment I arrived. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxed, and everything was well taken care of. Overall, it was a genuinely good experience, and I truly enjoyed my stay here. I would definitely recommend this place and wouldn’t mind coming back again.

Hotel twierdzi, że jest przebudowanym zabytkowym budynkiem, ale nie rozumiem, dlaczego przy wejściu nie ma nawet nazwy. Jeździłem tam kilka razy, ale nie mogłem tego potwierdzić, a zaparkowanie, żeby to potwierdzić, było trudne. Chociaż był e-mail z taką informacją, nie mogłem potwierdzić z wejścia, że to jest to miejsce, o którym mowa w e-mailu.
Ściany w pokoju były trochę cienkie i czułem to, gdy ktoś w izolatce opierał się o ścianę. Od 5 rano słyszałem muzułmańskie modlitwy poranne. Jeden z czterech podgrzewaczy wody był zepsuty, a drugi był ustawiony na 55 stopni Celsjusza, ale i tak odczuwałem 37 stopni. Ogólnie rzecz biorąc, udogodnienia wydawały się dość prymitywne.
Hotel jest dogodnie położony tuż przy Love Lane, co czyni go doskonałym wyborem dla miłośników życia nocnego. Znajduje się również blisko innych miejsc.
Ogólne wrażenia były poniżej oczekiwań.

GGuest UserThis was a temporary stopover near the airport. The environment was, to put it mildly, not great. The shower and toilet weren't separated, and as it's a Muslim household, you can't wear shoes inside, which made using the bathroom quite a hassle. Another issue was the significant noise from the road. However, it was cheap and close to the airport, and the host was very welcoming.

GGuest UserWe had a good stay there, comfortable, staff are okay but on my last day I was locked outside when the door knob mulfunctioned. Luckily the staff was giving full cooperation. Overall, recommended if you are travelling to explore places around Georgetown area and nearby places.

RRonin tanI was very satisfied with my overall experience at this hotel! First and foremost, the most convenient aspect was the airport transfer service. The driver was punctual and friendly, making the journey from the airport to the hotel very smooth. I didn't have to worry about transportation or getting lost at all. This service is truly thoughtful, especially for first-time visitors to the city.
The hotel's hygiene was also quite impressive. Whether it was the lobby, elevators, or inside the rooms, everything was meticulously cleaned, and the air was fresh with no unpleasant odors. The bed in the room was soft and comfortable, the bathroom was clean and tidy, and all the towels and amenities were well-stocked, making for a very reassuring stay. The daily cleaning service was also excellent; the staff would proactively clean and replenish daily necessities.
The location was also fantastic. The hotel is situated in a very convenient area with many restaurants, cafes, and convenience stores nearby. You can easily find food or daily essentials within a short walk. Whether you want to try local specialties or just grab a quick meal, it's incredibly easy. Moreover, the hotel is not far from shopping malls and public transportation, making it convenient for taking a taxi or public bus.

FFdidovicThe hostel is in a very good location right in the city center, which is definitely its biggest advantage. However, the cleanliness was disappointing. The room was quite dirty, and the overall condition of the hostel could be much better.
The breakfast was very basic, and in my opinion it’s not worth the price. I would only recommend staying here if the location in the center is your main priority.

XXiu Tang XuanI arrived quite late on the first day, and the front desk was already closed. I called multiple times, but no one answered. The platform told me to leave a message, and my email didn't get a reply either... I was actually ready to give up and leave a bad review. Then, suddenly, my phone rang at 1 AM, and someone responded – possibly a substitute staff member... After that, check-in went smoothly... The overall environment and concept are pretty good, and there's a suitable spot for me to get work done. Most importantly, seeing the lady diligently cleaning the beds the next morning really made up for it. I've saved this location for future reference.

GGuest UserThe staff at the hotel is so friendly and welcoming. Excellent service. The room is spacious, clean and bed very comfortable. Walking distance to Gurney drive and Gurney promenade. Early morning watch sun rises over the horizon. The promenade is big and clean. People jogging.
Food court nearby. Hotel 22 is the most colourful hotel in the area and can be seen from a distance. Would recommend anyone to stay in Hotel 22 if they are on the budget.

GGuest UserThis hotel is really great. For the first time i decide to book Gather Inn, i don't have any expectations. I choose Family Suite for max 4 people (bcs Trip.com give me a discount too hehe) But, the location suprisingly good!!! Pasar Chowrasta, 24 hours Laundry, Bakery, Nasi Kandar Deen Mutiara, Cheng Woh Herbal Store, Toh Soon Cafe, Bagel's Dream, Berlys Lebuh Leith and many places. I also love their hospitality 😭❤️ All the crew are friendly to us. If i got another chance to visit Penang again, i will no hesitate to book this hotel.

GGuest UserWith the price I paid, I'm totally satisfied with everything, water heater in good condition, air cond running smoothly, 2 toilet paper provided with 2 small bar soap..the room and bathroom is clean, kiblat direction, beddings necessities quite comfortable. I just hope the hotel can add more details on their site, mine don't have windows but no complain since we stay for short time. Iron and drinking water provided at the stairs.
