The Highfield House

Rooms are freezing, no hot water, rooms are filthy.. wardrobes which can be opened moth ridden.. officially the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in.. lights continuously flicker.. tad annoying.. however the food is excellent..if you’re prepared to wait for it!!

Amazing service - the staff couldn’t have been more helpful when it came to aiding my elderly mother so she could enjoy an outstanding Sunday lunch. Cannot thank them enough especially Polly(?) front of house. The food was beautifully cooked and the surroundings were wonderful - highly recommend!!!

Poor service. There was 2 hr delay in getting main course. Manager gave no reason but just apologised. Delay in same 2nd bottle and was charged wrongly by £10 more. Unable to finish dessert as 45 min delay as taxi waiting. Price of meal should ensure better service.

Delicious Taster menu and really appreciated that the chef did change items no eaten. But a little embarrassed on arrival to our table for this to be mentioned in front of other diners when we'd discussed a few days earlier and given warning..... a little slow with service sat over 2 and a half hours. Having said that the food was good.

The Highfield House is on our doorstep and having visited several times in the last couple of years we had no hesitation in choosing it for our wedding venue. The house itself and the accommodation on offer are both amazing. The food and service are superb. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming and we thoroughly enjoyed our special day, as did our guests. I would have no hesitation in recommending The Highfield whether it be just for coffee, a drink, something to eat or a room. Thank you to every member of the team. We’ll be back to see you soon. 👍👏🥂

All front and no substance. I knew it was expensive so I expected quality NOT this! Overcharged too. Supposed to be a special birthday, it was certainly memorable for all the wrong reasons. Whilst I love to support local business there is not a chance that this place can be recommended. The excuse was they were busy!

We stayed in the Kingsland room for 3 nights. An absolutely beautiful room full of light and space. Great bar and restaurant and very helpful and courteous staff. Would highly recommend for a splash of luxury it’s well worth it. Driffield town centre is a quick and easy drive (free parking) or walk with a market on Thursday and a thriving high street unlike many other places these days.

Me and my wife went to have dinner at the high field house hotel on Saturday evening. Upon arrival we were met and shown through to the bar where we had a couple of drinks before going to our table. The bar area was really nice and all the staff very pleasant. Once at our table in the lovely restaurant with a view of the gardens we ordered our food. As starters I had the soup which was exceptional and my wife had the duck. For mains we both had the fillet steak which was cooked to perfection for our different tastes, the chunky chips which come with the steak were delicious as was the side order of Mac and cheese which I would recommend. Our experience at the high field was fantastic and we will definitely visit again, thank you to all the wonderful staff who are very efficient and polite.

We have just returned from a fantastic stay in the Highfield hotel. Our room a junior suit was amazing. I especially loved the roll top bath in the bedroom part . The bed was so comfortable and the pillows I just wanted to take those home . Loved all the little touches . Fab bath robes and the raid the larder part is great I felt like a naughty child stealing sweets . All the staff were fantastic especially Georgia who sorted things for me to store my insulin. The owners Stan and Phyllis well what can I say . Such lovely lovely people on a first name basis . They also welcomed me into their private quarters so that I could store my insulin safely just had to knock and let myself in . If I'm going to be picky and it is being picky but it would have been nice for our mugs in the bedroom to have been washed daily instead of being left to get stained . I had nothing to wash them out with only fingers and water . The other thing was the breakfast. The cooked menu fantastic but for someone like myself who prefers continental there was no choice just 2 cereals except for this morning (Saturday) where there was 1 extra which I had . I had to ask for jam and the toast was more like warm bread hardly toasted which wasn't nice . We didn't eat here only because I'm such a fussy eater but I am thinking of trying it next time .We are already planning another stay in august though as I loved it so much . Going to see what deals they can do . Highly recommend this hotel
