Comfort Inn Centrepoint Motel

Lismore|2.24km from city center
I booked a family room for my three children and me. We didn’t need anything spectacular as were arriving late and checking out early, just comfortable, clean beds and a quiet place to sleep. This is however not what we found at the Comfort Inn. We felt awkward from the moment we arrived to the very busy, dated premises at around 9pm. There were numerous people partying on balconies and outside rooms. We picked up our keys and were disappointed to find out that there was not an allocated car park and instead we were to find a park. The car parking area was very narrow and full of cars with nowhere to park near our room. We had to reverse out the space is so cramped. I lugged our gear and three kids down the dimly lit driveway with a number of parties of people looking on, the room was not easy to find. It appeared that people were residents and not motel guests (given the amount of stuff you could see in their rooms), and sitting outside their rooms playing guitar and drinking. I’m all for merriment, don’t get me wrong, but preferably not right outside your motel room. The whole place looked grubby and dare I say it, a little “ghetto”. Cigarette butts lying around, dirty carpet outside the entrance to our room, people drinking everywhere. When we finally got in we realised the family room we booked was also shabby, with chipped tiles, tiles missing, and a general grubby feeling. We could still hear the music and partying outside so at this point, with three tired children, we decided to abort mission. This was not at all a family friendly motel and doesn’t deserve its three stars. We didn’t feel particularly safe, nor was it clean nor welcoming. I left a message on the after hours service explaining that we did not feel comfortable staying there and had returned the key. We called another motel at the last minute and they kindly accommodated us. They were welcoming and their rooms were pristine, and somehow cost less than the ghetto at Comfort Inn. I requested a refund, as I did not feel that the experience we had was in line with how the Comfort Inn markets itself, and the “family” room and the premises were not suitable for a family at all and not worth the $225 paid. I have however been refused a refund. Do not stay at this place.

Lakeside Lodge Motel
3.9/515 opinii
It was already more than 8 pm when we arrived, and the hotel owner was waiting for us. Due to the location, not many people moved in. There is a highway in front of the hotel, and many cars pass by at night, which is a bit noisy. The room size is quite large, one big and one small bed, just three people live. The air conditioner was old-fashioned and loud, and it was quiet after turning it off. Because the hotel is located on the edge of the town, surrounded by a large grass field, when you sleep at night, it feels that the worms are tweeting in your ears, adding a rustic atmosphere.
