The Syntopia Hotel - Adults Only

We have just returned from a weeks stay at The Syntopia hotel, Rethymnon, Crete. I am not sure there are enough words to describe our experience. Absolutely fantastic hotel, probably the best hotel we have stayed in and we have stayed in a few nice ones over the years. It was quirky with a Scandinavian boho vibe to it. It is exactly what it looks on the pictures when we booked (if not even better) we stayed all inclusive and the food was to die for, plenty of choice each morning, noon and evenings. The waiters and waitresses couldn’t do enough for you especially keeping us well hydrated taking our orders whilst we basked in the sun. I’d like to mention Anastasia in particular as she really looked after us over the week we was there. The rooms are absolutely gorgeous, and cleaned every single day with fresh water left for us by our mini fridge. Everyone is pleasant around the hotel. I used the gym which was also kept very clean. I can’t wait to rebook this hotel asap! I have come home feeling so so relaxed. It is only a 5 minute taxi ride away from rethymnon old town, we had gone there a couple of nights to break it up. I’d of like to have seen a chilled dj set one of the days around the pool but this didn’t spoil it as there was lovely chilled music played all day anyway. Would recommend anyone booking this hotel. Can’t wait to be back. We also got engaged whilst there so it was even more special. Ellie and adam

We have visited the spa today and did the relaxing trea**ent experience 1. I was helped at the front desk by Katrina and my therapist was Aspa. My partner was treated by Va***o. It was amazing throughout the whole trea**ent, we had excellent time. And feel incredibly relaxed and were talked through the full trea**ent. The body scrub has prepped us ready for the sun

The most amazing hotel ever!! We absolutely loved our stay here. The food was delicious with a wide variety at every meal. As with most all inclusive resorts, there is some limitations to drinks but there was still a huge variety!! Cocktails only available after 5pm but plenty of spirits, beer, and soft drinks throughout the rest of the day. The staff are absolutely outstanding. Extremely catering and helpful and so polite. The gym is only small but has good quality equipment. We loved the outdoor cinema, where they provided popcorn and blankets, was very cosy. The various bands throughout the evening were good and relaxing. The Ano rooftop bar was amazing at sunset, panoramic views of the sky and city. The hotel is a 10/10 so aesthetically pleasing and well decorated. Couldn’t fault the hotel at all. The location isn’t the best, there’s a few shops and small restaurants/bars around but we took a 10 minute taxi to Rithymno (the hotel helped us organise this) and it was so lively! Would 100% recommend this hotel and would stay again.

Amazing hotel, great vibes, entertainment, location and staff. My boyfriend and I stayed here for a week in May and loved the hotel theme and vibe. Perfect location for wanting a quieter base with a beautiful beach and nearby gorge for hiking too. We hired a car for 2 days and visited all the top tourist attractions which meant we saved a fortune doing it that way. We also did a day trip by boat from Rethymon to Santorini. We would highly recommend and would definitely be back!

Wow wow wow what a week, we have just had spent at The Syntopia hotel. From the second you walk in , you feel relaxed, the smell in the reception is just devine and straight away your treated to a drink and a warm smile. we started off with a normal double which was quite small so we asked to be upgraded and boy was it worth it , we loved room 410 , we had a jacuzzi on the balcony with amazing sunset views. It really made our trip extra special. The staff at this hotel make it , they were always friendly and nothing is too much trouble . drinks are constantly being brought to us , at our sun loungers. The restaurant had plenty of choice, all hot and tasty. we did go out every other night to eat which was fantastic to , highly recommend the restaurants called Cavo and Anchinos . The old town is just so beautiful and so worth a visit , 13 euros in a cab so many bars and restaurants and lovely shops. The hotel has the most wonderful gift shop, where you can buy the scent that is in the hotel reception, everyone was buying it. I am now home and it smells devine in my hall way. plus other very special wonderful purchases bags hats jewellery clothes etc This hotel is very relaxing, mainly filled with couples and the odd girlie trips of twos and threes, no lager lout , groups of men or rowdy hen girls. it’s a complete Oasis , very chilled vibe and just fantastic, we will be recommending it to all our friends who want to feel totally zen and relaxed. You have a choice of three swimming pools all special in their own right, I read all the reviews about the cabanas we didn’t find this a problem . I certainly wasn’t getting up early to grab one, there are plenty of beds to go round and the cabanas came free at about four pm so we jumped on them then . We spent time at each pool, the roof top pool is the quietest but it really is special I am surprised more people don’t go up there . the night entertainment was sometimes alternative but on the whole fine , you can either choose to watch it or simply don’t , plenty of other things to do. the live singer was great on Tuesdays and the dj was a nice change on the Sunday. My only one small criticism is that the dressing table had no mirror by it , but it did have plug sockets . which I found strange, luckily I brought a mirror with so could sit there comfortably to do my hair and makeup Apart from that I really couldn’t fault the hotel it was spot on for a truely wonderful relaxing break . We had an absolutely amazing time at the Syntopia Hotel. We spent 10 days all inclusive here, and can barely fault the place! From walking in the scent is INCREDIBLE (so much so, that we had to buy the candle on our way out! The rooms are lovely, lighting is ambient, but adds to the relaxing vibe of the whole hotel. Beds are huge and super comfortable, waterfall shower was lovely too. I’d read reviews about the check in process being a pain, but the app is super helpful whilst you are staying at the Syntopia, where you book the gym/yoga/dinner. Great idea to have slots for the dinner to allow it not feel too busy. Food was absolutely great every day! Some things are repetitive but nothing to complain about (I ate my bodyweight in tzatziki) and there was always plenty of options, new to try and some nights were themed. All staff were really lovely and friendly, especially the bar and restaurant staff and the lovely lady working in the mini canteen van! There was a woman with glasses who worked on reception who was rude about replacing towels but apart from that everyone was absolutely lovely. Great location, easy little walk to the beach, the beach however is quite stoney - and quite difficult to get in for a swim without rolling an ankle as the larger rocks can be very slippy! There’s a lovely bar down the beach with great cocktails, good prices with swinging egg chairs. There are 3 pools, we spent time at each one and they are all fab - smallest and quietest is the rooftop, then the jungle pool, then the busiest main pool - this one is a pain in the backside to get the daybeds as they are usually took up before 7/8am! We managed by luck one morning as the hotel had removed some guests towels (good on them!) They do however, come available later in the afternoon when the morning folk have gone! Drinks are served from 10.30-11pm which is plenty in my eyes - the frozen cocktails are really nice too! Although the beer isn’t great and quite flat as everything is served in plastic cups (no problem with this! Apart from the beer just goes flat straight away) The entertainment was chill, some nights they have film nights - we didn’t go to any of these so can’t comment. The other entertainment we thought was good - nothing too over the top and like I say chill - which is exactly what we were after on this holiday. The shop on the grounds is really lovely - full of great products and brands - the menswear, mugs and jewellery selections are gorg! Overall - if you’re after for a super relaxing holiday in a lovely hotel with great food - I really recommend and would definitely return in the future! 🤍

We’ve stayed at several 5* resorts around the world including a few in Greece but the syntopia hotel has been the best we’ve ever been to. The building is immaculate and stylish, especially the pool areas. Our room was spacious with a stunning pool and sea view at no extra cost and was kept spotless every day by the wonderful housekeeping team. The staff at this hotel are what really make it - every member from reception, to the bar to the restaurant is so friendly and cannot do enough for you. We had our drinks order taken and brought to us round the pool by lovely staff members circling round at all times every single day. In the restraunt all the staff greet you and get your drinks order straight away, topping up your water as they pass. The food is delicious and a great variety which again really impressed us. The staff at the snack bar are lovely and we loved having this option especially the loaded nachos. Drink selection is fantastic, lots of cocktails to choose from which were always delicious and looked appealing too. Another worthy mention is the beds and shower - we had a standard room but our double bed was huge, comfy with a proper quilt to choose and 2 pillows each. The shower was amazing for a hotel as it was a rainfall shower in a cubicle. We checked out at 10am on our last day but our coach didn’t pick us up until 6pm - not a problem as reception staff explained that we had full use of all the services all day and then could use a designated changing room to shower and refresh which was a lovely gesture. Also worth mentioning that the beaches are a 2 minute walk up the road - they are pebbly at the shore but lovely and peaceful nonetheless with lots of bars and shops surrounding. There is a bus stop literally outside the hotel which takes you all over and lots of excursions (elagonissi beach, Santorini etc) are on offer which we wish we did. Overall we couldn’t believe the value for money we had from this hotel and that it isn’t 5 stars. It’s a beautiful and relaxing hotel that feels like a luxury boutique resort. The staff here are up with the best service we’ve ever had at a hotel and not one member was anything less than kind, welcoming and helpful at all times (one of the reasons we keep returning to Greece is because of its wonderful Greek hospitality - even taxi & bus drivers are lovely here). We’ll 100% be recommending The Syntopia to friends and family and I’ve already had lots of messages asking which hotel I’ve been staying at! We would love to visit again in the future - thank you for a really special week.

Stopped in the Syntopia at the end of October 2023 with my Daughter All I can say is .....Thank you Syntopia ... you are a superb hotel and worth more than a 4 star The staff are amazing, the meals are very well presented and the hotel is very clean and very well decorated with a lovely chilled mood, the bedroom are very well designed although could do to have better lighting in the bath room for the ladies to apply their makeup the pool side service is wonderful, thank you Angeleo and Anastasia for keeping out glasses full and for looking after us. This hotel is well worth another visit next year. Once again Syntopia, thank you for making our stay a very memorable one :)

The best adults only, all inclusive we have visited. Staff - Amazing, all have a happy smiley 'what can we do for YOU' attitude. Food - Fantastic! Different every meal and all cooked fresh. Room - We had a suite with a sea view, overlooking the main pool, well worth the extra cash. Scenery - Wow! Everywhere you look is a fab photo opportunity. Pools - We used all 3 pools and preferred the rooftop. All have their own bar, beautiful beds and nice seating areas. 5* from us. Thank you for a wonderful week away Syntopia 💞
