I am a travel agent, and I recently booked Taj Villa Agra for a client, Dr. Chittranjan, under Reservation IDs URG1X1 and DCFQ2X, for three nights starting on November 7, 2024. We paid Rs. 4995.20 through the Taj Villa website. The booking terms clearly stated a zero cancellation charge if canceled 24 hours before check-in. Due to a sudden illness of the guest, we canceled the booking 10 days before check-in, making us eligible for a full refund. Despite this, we did not receive any refund for over 10 days after canceling. When I contacted Raj Arora, the owner of Taj Villa, he suddenly claimed a 10% cancellation fee would apply. When I pointed out that this contradicted the policy on the booking voucher, he responded rudely, saying, "Lena hai le warna bhaag," and then blocked my number. I later heard from his staff that he would refund me but only after a delay, as he was unhappy with my inquiry. In the end, Raj Arora refunded me 15 days after the cancellation, but with a 12% deduction, which goes against the booking terms. This experience was extremely unprofessional and frustrating. I would not recommend Taj Villa Agra to anyone. The behavior of the owner, Raj Arora, was unacceptable and unfair.
