We booked a 4 day coach trip to the Italian & French Riviera for the Nice Carnaval and Menton Lemon Festival. The accommodation however was at the Grand Hotel Mediterranee a 4* hotel. Accommodation itself was quite ok. Nice room with sea view. However the dinner experience was shocking. The organisation amongst the service staff was chaotic to the point they argued amongst each other. The food was served cold, with no sense of presentation. Quality & flavours of food was appalling. No choices for main course or vegetarians or if ppl don‘t eat for example seafood (cuttle fish was twice on the menu over period of 3 nights). Salad buffet had 4 different items and breakfast buffet did not even have one piece of fruit.

We just arrived in Grand Hotel Mediterranée. We paid for 2 rooms - 3 nights for a stay end of July / beginning of August € 1,758, close to EUR 600 per night for 2 rooms. The hotel is quite well placed close to the beach. However we were informed just after the reservation (I repeat, after the reservation, no indication of the extra charge before) that we would need to pay EUR 60 per day for an umbrella (meaning, if we would take 2 for 2 rooms EUR 360 for 3 days + EUR 75 for 3 days parking - total EUR 435), we know it is quite common in Italy but quite a surprise anyway. If it would be a real 4 stars hotel up to the standard, it would still be ok. However it is not a 4 stars hotel, there was one small bottle of water in the room (for 2, not so generous), no coffee machine (quite disappointing, as we asked we were told that only the superior rooms at the 5th floor have a coffee machine), nothing really special. Staff is however nice but the management should make a special effort to make this hotel a real 4 stars hotel.

Booked the grand hotel mediterranee for my birthday (again) and it was an awesome stay as usual. Stayed in room 487 which was on the 4th floor and facing the sea front. The room was spacious with a minibar, AC and own balcony. The hotel has its own garage which costs 25 Euro a day. A very special THANKS to Lucia for being very attentive and making our stay very special! One little thing to improve is the breakfast area. Maybe put more variety in choices and have dedicated staff.

It was nice and comfortable. The service at the breakfast was very friendly although they were busy. At the opposite the reception was quite slow. The cleaness of the room was excellent as we can aspected in a 4 stars. Extra service like the bycicle can to be improve.

Non me ne voglia il personale, unica brillante stella di questo vetusto hotel di Alassio censito con 4 stelle. Simpatia e cortesia che mi hanno convinto ad evitare una recensione totalmente negativa per quanto riguarda la totalità del soggiorno. Ci sarebbero da descrivere troppi intoppi accaduti in questi 4 giorni di soggiorno: dalla palestra non fruibile, dalla spa in manutenzione, dalla spiaggia agibile ma con lavori in corso, al tempo di pulizia delle camere. Camere spaziose ma probabilmente rinnovate 'qualche tempo fa', dove il bagno presenta chiari segni del tempo trascorso e degli ospiti che vi hanno soggiornato. Per supplire a questi disguidi mi è stato offerto il costo del garage (sessanta euro), gesto gradito ma non dissuasivo e soprattutto motivato: il parcheggio infatti è stato l'unico servizio extra che non ha dato problemi. La camera era la 230, che per qualche motivo si è trasformata in 30: forse un primo indizio ? La zona è magnifica e Alassio ha sempre il suo fascino, merita una visita. Attenzione comunque al cielo, a volte le stelle...cadono !
