オークランドからバス一本で行けますが、忙しい都会の喧騒から離れてゆっくりと過ごすことができました。パブリックスペースはとても広く、芝生でくつろいだりテラスで心地よい風を浴びながら本を読んだりと、素敵な時間を過ごすことができます。ホストも親切で話しかけやすい雰囲気の人です。私はタイミングがなかったですが、自由参加のヨガ教室があるそうなので、また機会があれば参加してみたいです。

It was a great stay. The place is an oasis in the big smoke. Was very nice park like accommodation. The people were friendly and was very welcoming. The pool and was great and the yoga classes were awesome. The glowworms were magical. the only downside was that the fire alarm went off twice in our 3 days stay. The first one was at 1:30am... not much fun.... there was no communication and we found out the next morning that the fire alarm goes off all the time and no one takes any notice anymore!! we were not impressed by that but apart from that it was a nice stay and we will go there again.

It is a very weird place, from some of the residents to the top manager. I am writing this to help others avoid an unpleasant experience: 1. The volunteers don't have a basic concept of customer service in hospitality. They seem unhappy with their work, and most of them don't greet or smile at customers, and never offer help happily unless customers ask for it. 2. Their manager, Jenny, is very insecure and strange. After I had a random chat with her staff about the retreat, Jenny questioned my agenda and asked if I would report her poor management to higher-ups. I was shocked by her strange suspicion and felt quite intimidated by her aggressiveness. 3. If you stay longer than one night, you will notice some people there do have mental issues and need help. Google Centrepoint, Albany/Auckland, you will learn the dark side of this place.

Room good. Warm. Dodgy locks. Have to walk over a wooden ramp to get to toilets. Showers hot but bathrooms not especially clean- more campsite quality. Very convenient to Albany. Peaceful and good kitchen facilities.
