Ignore the negative reviews - book this hotel, you won’t be disappointed- we have just spent 7 days here, arriving home today, 6 adults and a 3 year old. We have had a brilliant time - the hotel is so clean , rooms are amazing. Very spacious, cleaned everyday and towels changed daily. Bed linen once during our week, All staff are very helpful and friendly, nothing too much trouble. Food is good, lots of options and all fresh. Separate children’s area, we all found something to eat at every meal. Entertainment has been good- kids disco every night (except Wednesday)from 8.30- then adult entertainment from 9.30- this week we have had a quiz night, name that song, a white night and a Hollywood musical as well as other bits, there are other things going on around the pool all throughout the day too. Pool was massive, yes cold but once in it was fine. No rush for sun-beds either, plenty available all day.

We stayed at this hotel four adults and a toddler, we booked all inclusive. When we arrived we discovered you could only get ice cream a very limited choice and no ice pops for one hour at 5pm. You could only get drinks two at a time meaning three of us had to go to bar each time to get all five of us a drink, no premium brands. Snacks only available from one room twice a day. Food in restaurant was tepid at best but mainly cold. Bin in room not regularly emptied even with nappies in had to leave in hall to be emptied. No toiletries in bathroom had to ask for shower get. Had to pay to use indoor pool if not having a treatment and gym was chargeable. Had to pay deposit of twenty euro per towel. Sheets not changed regularly To be clear this is suppose to be four star all inclusive and whilst the room and building is lovely the little touches we usually get were non existent and a little of staff unfriendly and unhelpful No kettle in room No iron in hotel and a charge of six euro per item to iron clothes Would like to say a few were lovely and the TUI rep was amazing All in all Portugal lovely will go back there but never to this hotel Live wires in children area Activities on kids club half did not happen

We are staying at the Alvor Baia now, here for 10nights. We don’t like AI but booked this hotel due to its location 15mins walk into Alvor and it was cheaper than other nearby hotels. Just be mindful some of the paths are steep in Alvor not an issue for us but could be if you can’t walk very far. It’s a nice hotel staff lovely, food we’ve only had lunch, the food was lovely and each time there was varied selection. There are two restaurants blue - adults only. Green for everyone. There is a free shuttle bus to the beach that runs from reception. Rooms are spacious with big balconies. Big bedroom with separate living space with dining area and functional kitchen. Pool area nice. Never had an issue getting a drink from the bar. Negatives: Rooms - not a lot of storage space especially if you are a family. No storage in the bathrooms. Plug sockets are weirdly placed. Check in is 4pm. We had an early flight and I emailed a couple of weeks before asking for an early check in. On arrival we were told to keep checking at reception only to be told the room is not available. Finally got access to the room at 4pm, then to find out the room was ready earlier. The hotel should prioritise and accommodate early arrivals. You do have access to the hotels facilities but when you’ve been up since 3am you just want to chill and not everyone wants to lie around the pool all day. Pool area is nice, the parasols are fixed and don’t offer much shade from the sun. TBH pretty useless. Gym/indoor pool- you have to pay €5 to use the gym and it’s not fully equipped. Inside pool €16. These facilities should be offered as standard and not payable. This is the first hotel in Europe we’ve had to pay for use of the health facilities. I wouldn’t stay at this hotel, mainly because of the above. We prefer to stay at Tivoli Marina in Portimao, lovely hotel and better base for exploring.

This was a fantastic hotel. They never stopped cleaning. Toilets were cleaned every 15 minutes. Rooms cleaned every day. All the staff were very friendly. Especially at the pool bar. Breakfasts and lunch were nice, something for everyone I think. Had chicken kebabs practically every day. 🤣 Evening meals were a bit tricky for me, but I am a fussy eater. BBQ nights were good though. Wasn't too fussed on the night time entertainment, but that's not what I go on holiday for. They worked their socks off though. Went into Alvor a few times and reception staff didn't mind getting us a taxi, and never waited long for one. All in all a great holiday.

The overall stay was good Food- a selection but sometimes repetitive. Mixture of seafood, meat and veggies. A selection of salad ang grill. Beverage- was good to our taste as we dont drink a lot...cant comment a lot on this Staff- very polite, accommodating and very helpful Ammenities- the gym is very limited, the pool is big but can be crowded sometimes Biggest disappointment- im not sure if our case is isolated but we ended up with a bed inhabited with bed bugs...me my wife and son are full of bites all over our body.....the staff quickly responded but none from the management bothered to reassure the situation and left us to figure out the plan.....We came for a holiday and ended up with very itchy bites all over our body but we still manage to enjoy and huge thanks to Patricia for assisting us.

We have just returned from a week's stay at the Alvor Baia. My opinion on our stay is and was very mixed. Extrinsically, this hotel is fantastic. All areas are modern and spacious and well maintained. Our room was lovely. We stayed on floor 4 and had an amazing view of the pool. Our room was huge with a double balcony and was well furnished. The pool itself is busy, but amazing. Our issue with the hotel was about service. We nearly always stay AI so we are well accustomed to the cattle market dinner situation and repetitive food and watered down drinks etc. But I really didn't enjoy this one. Food wise, there are 2 restaurants. Blue and green. Families with children are sent to green. It's very much like a school dining hall and I found the whole situation quite stressful. Staff react to an empty table like an F1 pitstop. There's isn't any table service so you have to fetch your own drink. Food is repetitive. It's ok. But not great. A slight amount of table service would really improve the experience. The bar was the worst for me. And I mean bar. The hotel is huge and guests mainly use the outdoor pool bar for drinks. This results in queuing. Sometimes for 10 minutes. We all want to enjoy our holidays and queuing for 5/10 mins for 200ml of beer is not fun. This really needs to improve. The hotel is located about 15 mins away from the beach and alvor (walking) but you can grab an uber for 4 Euros. Very worth it. We had a great stay overall and if you've booked, there's nothing to worry about but had the service been better, we'd have said 4/5. Finally, the evening entertainment is absolutely diabolical. Take games.

A lot has been said both positive and negative. My family had a nice time Room is massive and spacious with balcony Food is ok- a lot of selection and as we love seafoods- theyve got a selection but in general- the hotel got a selection Beverage- as we dont drink a lot, cant comment so much Hospitality- very professional and approachable Cleanliness- very clean facility Unfortunately my family ended up with bed bug bites in some parts of our body as the matress weve got was inhabited. Reported our problem and action was very quick.
