Antigonish Victorian Inn

Good location and good facility.

The hotel room was charming but dusty. I looked under the bed because I was looking for something that I dropped and it was disgusting. We stayed in the Kirk room. The heater in the room doesn't heat evenly. While we were ok the room beside it where my daughter stayed was hot! we had to open a window because we couldn't control the heater. According to *******, breakfast starts at 8:00am (one of the reasons why I booked), it actually starts at 8:30am. Even their menu said 8:00am. My daughter had an event at 8:30am so we had to buy breakfast for her and come back for our breakfast. I told the person in front desk, and he changed the menu times. I also told him to check the time that ******* has. He was very argumentative. I gave up. The breakfast was ok. Although the place has a nice charming, antique vibe, the service is not good. I would not go back.

They have mentioned private bathroom but don’t have privacy you need to go in hall for bathroom.

I like quirky older properties and this fits the bill however attention to room details were missing. TV did not work, light bulbs were missing, closet door did not open, a second closet was storage for window air conditioners. Not all is lost, the Inn was quiet, the manager helpful, the breakfast was good. Just need to look after the small details to go from average to great.

Clean premises. Antique everything! ☺️ Updated modern utilities. Friendly helpful staff.

This was a most comforting place for a Christmas Eve stay. We were glad we chose the Victorian Inn, and I'm sure we'll be back again.

Not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. Although the rooms and linen are clean the property is very dated, in need of repair and a serious facelift. Room # 7 is on the uppermost level and requires mounting 3 flights of stairs (in a Victorian home with narrowing stairs the higher you go). There is no washroom in this room; it is located across the hall (this was not mentioned in the listing or upon check in. Staff were pleasant when I expressed my dismay regarding the washroom situation and I was offered a different room or full refund.

A nice property with Victorian style and large rooms centrally located. An included hot breakfast with the room fee is a nice touch.

Dirty shower liner. Staff not trained for the breakfast. Breakfast was barely rateable. Snow not removed from the steps. Stayed there a few years ago and it was quite different. Absentee owners.
