This was the worst service we experienced during our entire stay in Peru. It was really disappointing because we brought 23 people to this hotel, and everyone had a bad experience. For the next group, I’ve recommended a different hotel. From the moment we arrived, we felt like we were bothering the staff. Not a single smile during our stay – the staff seemed annoyed by tourists and very unfriendly. Only a slim, young man at the reception was slightly friendlier than the others and tried to help me. Breakfast had a menu, but I only got my order right once in 8 days. The waiters and kitchen staff were extremely slow (we always had to plan for over an hour of waiting), the food was almost always cold, and items were frequently missing. One day, they ran out of avocado and only had ham. I asked to replace the ham with jam, but the waitress refused and wanted to charge extra for the jam – completely unreasonable. We had booked the New Year’s Eve dinner there. There were 21 of us that evening, and no one was satisfied. The food was very slow to arrive, the portions were small, and while a few dishes were decent, others were downright bad. The shrimp in the salad were spoiled – you could smell it (one person still ate them and got sick hours later). The fish wasn’t cooked through, and some plates were sent back to the kitchen. The staff seemed irritated by this. For 150 Soles and raw food, this was unacceptable. There were many order mix-ups, so some people were already done with dessert while others were still waiting for their main course. We started ordering at 8 PM and were told that the bar would close at 10 PM. At 10 PM, the first main courses were just arriving. Someone tried to order a drink but was told it wasn’t possible anymore. After some discussion, I was allowed to place one last round of drink orders, but the staff was clearly reluctant and said they could only serve bottles. That was fine with me at the time since we were still eating because of how slow they were. We ordered 4 bottles of wine, some beers, and water. The dessert still wasn’t fully served, and we ran out of drinks. When someone brought drinks from outside, the staff jumped in and wanted to charge 25 Soles per opened bottle. I explained that we had been sitting there for so long because the food was either wrong or poorly cooked and that it wasn’t our fault the service was so slow. But they didn’t care – we still had to pay the 25 Soles, and we ate dessert without any drinks. I have never experienced such terrible service in my life. We also booked an extra room by mistake. I wanted to pay for the first two nights and cancel the rest. I spoke to everyone at the reception about this, but nothing came of it. They knew that, thanks to us, 23 people stayed there, but they didn’t care. They didn’t even offer a partial refund or a bar voucher. They simply refused to help at all.
