Vila Gale Nautico

Just back from a 10 day stay at Vila Gale Nautico. Can't really add any more to all the positive reviews. Hotel is very clean, the staff are really friendly. Hotel Manager was always on hand to make sure things ran smoothly. Meals in the restaurant are really good and the "theme" nights are great. Particularly liked the Portuguese night but loved seafood night which had fresh oysters, clams, razor clams, prawns (beautiful). Pool area is again well kept with plenty of lounges available. The heated indoor pool is nice. The food in the snack bar is cooked to order but you ever had to wait too long and its prepared very well. Good choice of drinks. Vila Gale group own their own vineyards ( Santa Vitoria) so the wines are excellent. Safe in the room is chargeable at 2.50 euro per night. There's a little road train which stops outside the hotel that takes you around the area of Armacao de Pera. You can hop on/off for 4 euro each. Theres a nice beach literally across the road from the hotel with sunbeds and umbrellas to hire. A stroll along the promenade will take you toward the town which is nice and you can always go in the other direction along the cliff top (I've attached some pictures) Hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did.

♥ Pros: This was my first holiday abroad. I went with my fiancé and can happily say, I was not disappointed. Great holiday, only a 5 minute walk to the beach. Close to shops and lots to do around the hotel. It was all inclusive. Great food & drinks (Loved the cocktails of the day!). We mostly ate our weight in food, drank cocktails and sat by the pool soaking up the sun. When we weren't relaxing by the pool, we walked down to the beach or went shopping. We did a excursion on a boat to see the caves & dolphins (Unfortunately, we didn't get to see the dolphins but was still a lovely part of the holiday!) All in all, great hotel, great food, great drinks and great holiday! Staff were really nice and great service at breakfast, lunch & dinner! *** Bonus: It was my birthday when we went here and they left a chocolate cake + wine in our bedroom with a cute birthday note! ☺ *** Cons: • Had to pay extra to use the safe (€2 per day!) • No kettle but all we had to do was ask reception. Asked in the morning around 8am but they didn't actually drop of the kettle until 4pm and only gave us decaf coffee (There was also a variety of teas). It was our last day and we already went twice to reception to ask about the kettle so didn't want to go back a third time to ask for normal coffee rather than decaf. • I did call reception and ask if the mini fridge could be filled with pepsi max rather than pepsi to which they confirmed they will do this on the following day but they continued to refill the mini fridge with pepsi rather than my request of pepsi max. (I did only ask once but wasn't really fussed to ask a second time).

2nd year of going to this hotel, and another great holiday! They have made the pool shallower (it’s now 1.40m deep instead of 2m) which was good for the kids, but STILL too cold for me to go in! Everyone was saying- the pool really should be heated. The I for heated pool was small and perhaps over chlorinated as the kids hair and costumes went a bit green. But it would be 5* rating if outside pool was heated! There isn’t any reviews I could find here for the onsite restaurant Massa Fina, which you get 1 meal in if you stay for 7+ nights. Otherwise you have to pay to eat there. I’ve included some pictures, but overall it was quite nice and good for a break from the all inclusive food. Pizza was like a cream cracker, but tasty. Spag bol was also tasty but a little soft (like a tin of Heinz). Garlic bread was also on a cream cracker like base and not very garlicky. Only complaint was the bana and cho pizza for the kids, it was on a raw pizza base that smelt and tasted raw. So not very nice. In conclusion, we love this hotel- and the beach is only 5 mins away. There isn’t much to do along the main ***** just a few gift shops and a very nice coffee shop, so be prepared to spend your time fully in the hotel. If it rains, you’re a bit stuck but the snack bar is nice and can hang around in there. Inside pool is warm but but scabby, really wish outside was heated. Great stay and would recommend!

We stayed for a week on an AI basis. This was the 2nd time we’ve gone for AI and I am very pleased we did. I love fresh food, loads of salads and freshly cut fruit and this hotel had abundances of good quality food. If you want pie, mash and mushy peas then this isn’t the place for you. Thursday night is seafood night and I really enjoyed the oysters, clams, prawns etc. another night the theme was tropical fruits. Every lunch time and dinner they cooked fresh steaks and/fish. I loved the steaks. For me the food was simple, fresh and well cooked. Lots of choice. The apple crumb and custard was also another one of my favourites. We’ve been back a week now and I miss the delicious food so much. Staff in the restaurant couldn’t be more helpful. Our room was always kept very clean and the small fridge restocked daily. It did get busy round the pool as we went during half term but there seemed to be almost enough beds for everyone. We are not sun worshippers so happily sat in the shade reading a book. We met some many lovely people in this hotel and now have lots of new friends on FB. The walk to the nearest beach is about 5 minutes and if you walk on to the main beach area near the fishing huts there are boat trips you can go on. We went with Aurora. Please check out my review for this company as you do not want to miss going on a boat trip to the caves. It’s also worth walking to the caves which are to the right of the hotel. BUT you need to go on a boat trip to see inside them. My only gripe would be with the reception staff at this hotel. We asked a couple of days before we were due to leave if we could keep the room and kept getting told to come back. To be honest they didn’t seem very organised and weren’t very helpful. Eventually we did get to pay to keep the room but not without being told to come back to the desk and ask several times. I really don’t think this was very professional and seemed as though they were being awkward for the sake of it. The manager at this hotel was a lovely guy, couldn’t be more helpful and always had a smile on his face. Overall I loved the area Armacao de Pera as it still retains its Portuguese village charm. We did go to Albufeira for the day but didn’t enjoy it as much. More like Magaluf. But each to their own. If you want night life that’s the place to go. The entertainment at this hotel is very basic. It didn’t really bother us though as we were usually chatting to other holiday makers in the evening. A few more good singers on would be good. However I thought for the amount we made this hotel offered excellent value and one day we might return…….

I loved the Hotel, very close to the beach, The hotel has a spectacular pool bar, where the animation makes us spend great moments very pleasant and super friendly, Expecialmete the animator Aline, super friendly and attentive. Loved it and recommend it

Returned last Thursday from this hotel. This was our second time in this resort. Fabulous location 5 mins ftom lovely sandy beach. My friend and I did mainly go to the Beach as we love it. The sea was freezing this year which was a shame wasn't last year. Hotel rooms are lovely asked for a kettle which was supplied straight away. Fridge in room which is stocked daily. Lots of sun beds round pool. Great breakfast had freshly cooked omelette, lovely croissants and roll's, good choice. We loved the snack bar, great smoked salmon baguettes and toasties oh and pastries. Lovely ice creams all in. Really good value for money this hotel. Great location. Staff so helpful and polite. We had a great week in this fabulous hotel. The all inclusive deal was brilliant. So much food and variety that we never got bored of what was on offer. The staff were very helpful and attentive. Our 2 young boys really enjoyed the kids club and loved spending time with the girls working there who are amazing with kids and so patient. They really made the experience for our children special and are such an asset to this hotel. Overall, a great hotel which we will definitely come back to.

Going home from here today. Highly recommend this place to anyone! Stayed here with my mum for a week, from the moment we arrived the staff have been so warm, friendly and helpful. Everything seems to run like clockwork in this place. On top of all this it is just over the road from a very nice, quiet section of the local beach. A lot of people in the reviews seem to complain about lack of variety in food, but honestly we didn’t have a problem with it. You get what you pay for, a decent selection of food every night, and the snack bar serves some lovely stuff. If I had to say anything negative about our stay it would only be the lack of entertainment, there was some but I imagine they would have more during peak times. Want to thank everyone who works at this hotel for making it such a lovely, memorable time for us! I honestly would come back.

My dad and I are currently on day 6 of our father/daughter holiday at this lovely hotel, from the start the staff have been warm, welcoming and attentive. The rooms are of a very good standard and beds are made daily, towels changed etc, we have a pool view which is very nice and can also see the sea! All the communal areas of this hotel are well maintained, tables cleared quickly in the restaurant, everywhere is very clean, glasses and rubbish collected regularly around the pool etc. I was worried after reading the reviews that being a vegetarian I would be living off salad and chips for a week but there have been very good vegetarian options at all mealtimes and I've thoroughly enjoyed the food available, hot, lots of variety and super tasty! We also got to enjoy the a la carte restaurant for Father's day included in our stay and this gave a different experience with again gorgeous food! The location of the hotel is perfect, not a long commute, over the road from the beach, close to the town centre and centrally located for those wanting to hop in a car/on a bus to explore the local cities. The drinks on the all inclusive are of good quality and of course endless supply! My only criticism would be that the evening entertainment hasn't been great some evenings but that may be different in months where it is busier as most nights there were not many people sitting in the bar where the entertainment was as there are options of sitting outside or in the dedicated Euros football 'fan zone' (which was a nice touch). Overall this has been a fantastic stay and I'm already looking to come next year and bring my husband and 3 kids as I think they will love it! Would really recommend!
