The Killick Inn & Suites

My wife and I, celebrating our 63rd wedding anniversary, found us in Arnold's Cove towards the end of our 2 week, 3300 km driving trip. We booked two nights at the Killick and because of the quality and location of this Inn, extended our stay by one more night. A great location to explore the Avalon and Bonavista Peninsulas, as well the city and surrounding area of St John's, the accommodations were, by far , the best we stayed in on this trip. Spacious, clean, fully equipped and handicap friendly, nothing is lacking. The owner/operators, Darlene and Andy have created a wonderful environment which enhanced our trip beyond our expectations.

We made our reservation at the last minute as we were driving through and needed a place to stay, and we were very pleased to find such a lovely spot. The woman who took our reservation over the phone told us she would send check-in instructions by email since we would be arriving fairly late, but she forgot to send them, so we had to call her when we arrived - not a big deal. The accommodation was much more spacious than we would have expected (a 2-bedroom suite) and we had a nice relaxing evening watching a movie together in the living room. Bedrooms, bathroom and kitchen all well-equipped and comfortable. This place lost a star because of our unfortunate check-out experience. We did not notice the sign that said that checkout was at 10:30 (our mistake) and we left nearly an hour late. Since the Inn was not busy at all we hoped this wouldn’t be a big problem (especially since we’d had some slight inconvenience checking in) but the woman seemed very put out that we had checked out late and implied that we should feel grateful that we weren’t charged for a second night (we were charged $50 + tax). We realize that we were in the wrong for not noticing the sign but it did put a damper on what had been a really lovely stop on our vacation.

Killick Inn is stunning. The rooms and suites themselves are clean and decorated nicely. It’s new and has the basics plus some perks (coffee, TV, shampoo, conditioner, soap) and a BBQ and deck chairs. The view was unexpected but lovely. Short trip but I will be back again. Check in and departure was easy!

This was such a great find and the price was outstanding. Overlooking the water. There was so much room in the place (2 bedroom suite) and everything was comfortable. Laundry soap provided. Easy parking and access to the room. Definitely would stay there again.

A two week stay in any lodging can be challenging. Not so at The Killick Inn & Suites. We are seasoned (old) travellers and highly recommend The Killick Inn and Suites. Well located, right off the main road, but quiet. Located within easy driving distances of the Bonavista Peninsula, the Burin Peninsula and all the major sites on the Avalon - St. Mary’s Ecological Reserve, Witless Bay Bird Sacntuary boat tours, the Irish Loop, Bay De Verde Peninsula, St. John’s and Signal Hill, and much more. Our suite was super clean; the kitchen had all the necessary amenities; it was well furnished and comfortable, and the beds were super comfortable. The room rate is a bargain. We recommend The Killick Inn & Suites highly.

Excellent location. The suite offered a separate bedroom allowing a good set-up for temporary office and meetings. Next time I come for a longer stay, I'll take advantage of all the suite has to offer. Very convenient for business meetings I had in the area. I will be back!

Everything was perfect. Darlene was able to accommodate us as we changed our plans for coming across the island from Gros Morne. Once we realized how great this place is we wished we would have had more time here. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite for the full ocean view and were very happy with how spacious the suite is. We were able to do a bit of laundry and enjoy some barbecued steak while relaxing on the deck enjoying the view. Watching the tide come in and go out was fun. This is probably the cleanest place we’ve ever stayed and it has all the conveniences of being at home. I wish we would have had more time here.

We were very pleased with our stay. The suite was very clean, very reasonably priced, everything you could possibly want was provided. Check in and check out was a breeze. If anyone is looking for somewhere to sty we would recommend The Killick. We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Great place with a beautiful view and squeaky clean. We were lucky enough to stay for two nights and it was so comfortable and convenient for exploring Arnold Cove. Our two bedroom unit was both modern and spacious. We highly recommend the Inn.
