My family and I had a fantastic 2-day stay at D-Day Aviators Manoir. My 10-year-old son selected the hotel because of its D-Day aviation memorabilia, which is fantastic and includes the cockpit of a plane in the dining room. But we were pleasantly surprised by the location and accommodations. We were steps away from the remnants of Mulberry Harbor B, the D-Day Museum, the sea, and the shops and restaurants of Arromanches. The location could not have been better. The accommodations also were perfect for a family of four—two bedrooms, a common area, and a large bathroom with a shower, a separate bathtub, and double sinks. There also were two modern tvs with English available, a microwave, and a coffee maker. Most importantly, to me as an American who has encountered some unwelcoming locals on our trip to France, the couple who owns the Manoir are warm and welcoming. As we were leaving, my 8-year-old asked if we could come back to the hotel on a future trip. I definitely will if we visit the Normandy coast in the future. I would give the D-Day Aviators Le Manoir 6 stars if that was an option.
