Atomic Motel

I have stayed here before-honestly, a decent place overall, with a good price. Pros are walking proximity to food and cocktails, good tv, ease to downtown. Cons are older beds, bedding and pillows, road noise and no coffee maker in room. What was once kitschy is now getting a little tired and dated. Still-I would probably stay here again.

Very fun decor, friendly staff, clean, and met our expectations. No frills, but price is great and has a fun reto vibe.

I really wanted to like this place. I support small businesses and appreciated that they were able to revamp an old space using accent pieces. However, my experience here was terrible. When my partner and I arrived to drop off our bags at the motel, we noticed a tv blaring in the next room over. We shrugged it off and went out for some food. Upon our return, the tv was still blaring. We thought that for sure, whoever was in that room would need to sleep at some point. Alas, the tv blared all night and, given that the front desk closes at 9, there wasn't much we could do. Adding insult to injury, we couldn't even drown out the noise with our own tv as it unfortunately did not work. The next morning, I wrote a text to the motel line that had contacted me about my reservation, informing them of the issue. They didn't respond. So, my partner went to the front desk and let them know that we barely slept due to a blaring tv, which we suspected by morning was in an unoccupied room. They said they'd seen the text and confirmed that the room was unoccupied. The person who'd cleaned the room must have left it on. My counter to that excuse is to ask: what amount of crack does one have to take to not notice that the tv is cranked up full volume as they leave the room? What's worse is the lack of response we got to our complaints. They blamed us! They said we should have called the emergency line to which we responded. . . I ran out of space here. Positives - cheap and quaint. Has potential to be a good place to stay. Negatives - Not very clean, seems like it’s about ready to fall apart, terrible beds, paper thin walls and ceilings. We’ve stayed there twice now (in different rooms) and feel like we can judge it fairly. Staff is nice.

This is a very lovely vintage hotel for a stay in Astoria. You will not be directly in the center of town but are easily able to walk there. The property was safe, clean, and everyone that worked there was nice. We did not try the small breakfast but it looked like a cute assor**ent of fruit and muffins with drip coffee that was setup to go with you. The two things I would warn someone about involve the bathroom area. First there is one switch for both the lights at the sink area outside the rest of the bathroom and the lights/fan for the inside of the bathroom. So if you are traveling with someone, you have the choice in the middle of the night of no lights or blasting them with lights and the fan if you decide to use the bathroom. Second, the shower head is placed for short people. I am not a tall person and it was even a bit short for me. Nothing that one can't overcome, but perhaps someone on the tall side might not be very comfortable with this situation. If you are booking here you should not expect the Ritz but it is a solid and quirky choice. I would stay here again even knowing the couple of issues I mentioned.

I loved how the room was decorated. Perfect last minute booking. Will definitely be back again.

We got some really bad weather and they were not sympathetic to people that were stranded. Not saying that they should have given rooms out for free or anything but even a late checkout they weren't willing to accommodate even though they had no business because the roads were bad. I will never stay there again.

Motel with a 60's space theme. Well-located in downtown Astoria next door to a reall good pig 'n pancake breakfast place. The free motel breakfast is very very minimal. Esentially this is a Motel Six eith attitude. Price is right.

The amenities and location are great and as expected. But we found old food in the microwave from a previous guest and dirty underwear between the mattress and the wall. And it wasn’t hidden away, it was in plain sight. No idea how housekeeping missed it. The motel was great otherwise but the bad housekeeping kinda ruined the stay. Cleanliness is important!
