Le Cise, the Originals Relais (Relais du Silence)

Immeuble idéalement situé au calme, à proximité de la mer et des sentiers de randonnées... intérieur un peu vieillot mais quelle surprise en découvrant la chambre ! Spacieuse, très propre et fonctionnelle, personnel sympathique... seul bémol le prix du petit-déjeuner mais nous y retournerons sans aucun doute !

Beautiful spot in almost the middle of nowhere. Close to the sea with a stunning view and loaaads of potential but ooooh...I never felt so unwelcome in a hotel before! I was on a roadtrip with my 20 yrs old daughter in Normandy. No plans just going where the wind blows. So we called hotel Le site in the morning to make a reservation for the night. A very kind woman picked up the phone: "all good and when you arrive a little more early (I asked for) and the room is ready, no problem". So we arrived around 14.30 (not an uncommon time to arrive, is it?) in a totally abandoned place. The reception was closed. No people around, only a French couple with the same problem. When we took a look around also the plungepool seemed to be end of season (it was a warm day though). I picked some working men from the garden but even they had no clue. After 15 minutes of waiting I decided to call the hotel. And "yeah" a woman picked up. I am not a princes, not high maintenance, very flexible and used to something but this woman was rude+! I speak French. Good enough to have a conversation. But when the French start to speak too fast in their very French way I can't follow. She *****ed in fast French that the rooms were not ready yet and the reception will be open from 17.00. She spoke no English. Not a word. Uh? So what to do now? Nobody told me that I couldn't even store my luggage. I told her I wanted to cancel the reservation so I could go to a more welcoming place. Not a chance of course, I just had to wait and she hung up on me. A man arrived and I asked him. He walked to a back door and to my very surprise a woman opened. Ha! Lucky me! I kindly asked her in French about the reception, for the rooms etc. but her attitude was so unpleasant that it became hilarious (I guess it was the lady I spoke with on the phone). Enough is enough so after some Ooh lala and tralala and some #$!%# on my part the room appeared to be ready and I got the key. We left our luggage and escaped to the next village Mers-Les-Bains. Pffff... Next morning, no way we wanted to have breakfast there, a very kind young man stood behind the reception. Totally sweet and helpful. So maybe, the day before, we just met the angry stepmother on a bad hair day? Actually, the rooms are ok. Clean and comfy. Our bathroom was a ballroom. The hotel has a restaurant but it was closed the day we arrived. The environment is beautiful for walks and there is a cute little beach only a stone's throw away.

We had a very nice stay with our teenagers. The view in our room was beautiful and it was quite spacious. The service was pleasant as well. Breakfast was rich and full of local offers as well as great choice.

Overall, poor late check-in experience, with staff expecting us to find a building 300m away and go to 2nd floor looking for a room, ourselves, until I demanded someone show us to the room. The room was only occupied room in an otherwise empty property, with run-down and old apar**ent, fixtures and fittings. security door was also not working properly and held open with a bar. Staff were not responsive during the restaurant, with expansive French food, with little/no choice for vegetarian options, save for a Thai dish. Breakfast was also expansive, but location was good (on cliff to English Channel) and about 70miles from Calais.

The restaurant food is rudimentary and heavy with very limited choice. Take care of asking for the wine card before asking for a bottle of white one. Otherwise the waitress will bring you a 90€ one just to go with a Wafle!!!

Very beautiful location overlooking the ocean. Rooms are tired. Hot tub very old and not very hot. Dinner Restaurant service was the worst I’ve experienced on a 25 day trip to date. Our waiter just disappeared for 45 minutes. Very odd. Plus I asked him for a mixed salad which he said was not possible but then every entree had a salad on the side? The food was actually good but the service made the dinner experience poor. We did order a $150 bottle of Meursault that was very nice. Seems like a locals restaurant where tourists are a nuisance. The younger local tables were the focus for this waiter.

Price/quality ratio on the low side (expensive restaurant), but outstanding location and sea view (at least for the best rooms). Nice crew. Missing a comfortable lobby. Location is appreciable, and a short car ride brings you to the most spectacular spots of this beautiful bay.

Sea view was marginal, reread the literature and you need the "panoramic view". Our view was between two buildings....... Otherwise it is a nice hotel with friendly staff and great food. Note that mobile internet signal was poor and the WiFi was next to useless, apparently it was the weather....... Our weather was poor so not too much to do but in good weather it must be great to explore the area, the valley down to the hotel has many wonderful

Beautiful location on the top of Ault's cliffs. Beautiful room, junior suite sea view, very cosy, nicely decorated, very comfortable. Breathtaking view. On the food side, more local products from farmers around the area could be appreciated at the breakfast buffet.
