We checked in on the 19/01 for a 2 day family holiday . Check in was easy and we had a nice clean room with all the amenities. We liked the spot , the next day housekeeping cleaned our room properly too. The restaurant was good too, but didn’t do breakfast, also couldn’t understand why the pool is closed. Apart from that the stay was good, nice place on marine parade, and behind the hotel there is warehouse and other shopping.

We stayed one night before flying to Wellington. Check in was a breeze, the staff was excellent and we loved the art deco features in the hotel. The rooms were renovated with the bedroom having lots of art deco style but the bathroom was more modern - which we appreciated. They hid a power cube with usb ports, which was helpful. Parking was one block away and east to get to. You can’t beat the location for waterfront access and shopping nearby. Some good dining options as well. Only downside is Napier goes to bed early.

Very clean and tidy, we ordered the ground floor, the front desk upgraded us to the third floor, very quiet. The balcony can see the seaside, there are fried chicken and izakaya opposite the hotel, praise! ! There is free parking, and friends who drive can choose this place. The location is great. The bed was very comfortable and the hardness was moderate. Very pleasant stay~

An absolute disgrace. It has blown my mind reading other reviews. The pictures shown online are nothing like what the place was like. I walked into the garden shed and it was a sauna, I had to leave the aircon on full blast 24/7 for 4 days, to spend as little time as possible here. There was no wifi when we arrived, the manager did try to help, “standing outside the door you get a bit of wifi” it eventually came on the next day only in one room! There were pubes in the bed from previous customers, the sofas are completely sunken in, you cannot sit on them. I felt so repulsed even making a cup of coffee. It was that awful I would leave the house around 9am and not return til 11pm, I couldn’t handle the depression of being in this dump. I couldn’t book anywhere else as it was NYE. I considered going back home it was that awful. Also there was no hand wash in the house, given the pandemic I was surprised. There was a hole in the front door, a stain that looked like poo on the toilet wall. I cannot express how much of a dump this place is. The curtains had to be drawn all day to keep out the heat, the building is a shed, you could put a hole in the wall with your thumb. It felt like a crack house with curtains drawn all day, the weird smell and just the overall state of the furniture. To top it off, customers from the pub were rowing outside our dump unit one night, a guy punched the woman to the floor, police were called. This place needs to be bulldozed.

1. Waking up at 5.45am by park users driving their cars around the park, playing loud music and yelling profanities 2. being intimidated out of the kitchen by people drinking heavily and smoking 3. Waking up in the middle of the night by someone banging on our cabin door, yelling threats at us and throwing objects (eggs) at our window (see photo) 4. Overheating in the cabin at night because there are no safety latches on the window and being afraid that any park users mentioned in numbers 1-3 above could climb through our window while we sleep 5. Having staff laugh at us the morning after number 3 happened (although they will deny this happened) 6. using a kitchen that stinks 7. Having rubbish bins overflowing with rubbish and rotting food left in the communal kitchen/fridge. 8. Having piles of dirty and wet tea towels in the kitchen with no clean or dry ones available 9. Having to pay for use of showers 10. Knowing that the staff at Napier Top10 will deflect blame on to us, deny claims mentioned above and fabricate their own stories as evidenced by replies from top 10 head office in emails and previous responses Napier top10 have given to ”negative” feedback that they have received. All in all, a very disappointing stay at Napier Top10. We felt unsafe and we will be dissuading all friends and family from staying here. We recommend others also find alternative accomodation to here.

The location is very good, facing the sea, you can lie in bed and watch the sunrise, sit on the balcony and have a cup of tea and read a book to see the vast expanse of the sea too enjoyable! There is also a whirlpool in the room, and friends who like to take a bath can enjoy it. The hotel's price/performance ratio is super high. Napier is a place worth living for a few days.

After a pleasant reception we were shown where to park the car with plenty of spaces and how to reach our room. It was spacious and excellently equipped with a lovely bathroom with a stunning view. The room had a balcony with table and chairs with fabulous views also. Room service was extremely good. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order with a very good choice. All staff were smiling and polite and gave us excellent advice. The location is really good with lots of good restaurants and bars within minutes. We would unhesitatingly come here again and would highly recommend this hotel.

My colleague and I needed some urgent accommodation in Napier to support a customer. The Albatross had a twin room unit that suited our needs during the busy part of the summer season in the Hawke's Bay. The room was fresh, clean and welcoming. Excellent Wi-Fi speed! The shower was good with good pressure. We would certainly stay at the Albatross again. The BayView hotel just down the road was perfect for a walk for a very nice meal and a large selection of both local and national craft beers. Great garden bar to enjoy a lovely summers evening. Or I'm sure a cracking fire in the cooler months.

Free parking, parking at the entrance of the accommodation, very convenient. The kitchenware is very complete, except that there is no chopsticks. Because there is a kitchen, it is very convenient to get some children's favorite food in the morning. The room has 3 single beds and 1 double bed, enough to live, plus a baby cot. It is very convenient to have a bathroom upstairs and downstairs.
