Villa Kalisat Resort is situated behind a Balinese traditional village, 80 metres above the hillside of Petanu River Gorge, 50 metres walk through traditional family village and temple. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property. Located only 12 minutes drive to central Ubud, this boutique villa offers 2 outdoor pools, a private spa and a private path down to the Petanu River. The seven suites at Villa Kalisat Resort are designed to maximise the property's picturesque views of the rainforest, the river valley and the pools. The rooms are tastefully furnished with traditional and modern Balinese designs. Each air-conditioned room comes with a four-poster bed, mosquito nets, a minibar and an electric kettle. Each room comes with an en suite bathroom with rain shower. Surrounded by rainforest and wildlife, Villa Kalisat Resort is 12 minutes’ drive from Ubud Palace and Ubud Monkey Forest. It takes 90 minutes’ drive from Denpasar Airport to the property. Guests can indulge in relaxing massages, as Kalisat Spa has an extensive list of spa treatments. An array of activities can be enjoyed on site or in the surroundings, including cycling, hiking and rice field walks. The property offers free parking. When you enter the property it feels like your new home. The stunning views from the rooms make it like a paradis. With a superb breakfest every day starts great. The owner and her staff is very friendly and caring. The rooms have a tasteful interior.

This place is not less than amazing. The view is stunning, rooms are perfect, food os very good and the staff are so nice. We had 3 kids with us. 8, 5 and 2 years old. To be honest it was way too dangerous with our youngest. He could fall down everywhere and it was very stressful. We had booked 4 night but shortened it down to two nights. The manager was such a nice person, and understood all about the situation. I would love to get nack to this place in maybe 5 yeara when I dont have that small kids. The area around is really worth to visit.

In our opinion, Villa Kalisat is one of the best hotels in Bali. Therefore, here is a short rating on a scale of 1-10. Service 10/10 - The staff is great. You come into a family and are accepted into it. Everyone is helpful, super friendly and just great. Location 10/10 - The hotel is located in the middle of the jungle. The view is absolutely amazing. You can't get enough of it. In addition, you are a few minutes' drive from Ubud. Food 8/10 - The food is perfect. Everything is super delicious. A little expensive by Indonesian standards. Room 10/10 - Clean. Pretty. Big. Thank you Villa Kalisat for letting us live with you!

We recently stayed at the Villa Kalisat and I can honestly say that this is one of the best stays we have ever had on our travels! From the moment we arrived and entered through the family compound, we were made to feel so at home and part of the Kalisat family. Our room, the Oriental suite, far exceeded our expectations, and we were immediately drawn to the breathtaking views of the jungle, which was complimented so beautifully by the tranquil sound of the river & waterfall below. The welcome drink was such a lovely touch and so delicious and interesting! We loved all the art, décor and gorgeous plants around the property and our children (11 and 14) loved having the pool right outside our room. The spa treatments were fabulous, the duck and chilly chicken was to die for and the staff were so accommodating in helping us organise tours and transfers to and from the airport / other hotels. Thank you Bene, Kim, Atik and Dewa and all other staff at the Kalisat for such a wonderful stay. We will never forget Atik’s welcoming words “This is not a hotel, or a villa, but your home for the next few days”. Our only regret was not staying longer.

Just back from an all too short stay at Villa Kallisat. This place is the absolute definition of a hidden gem, a real Bali experience in an authentic boutique hotel which is also really unique. The location is surely a slice of paradise, immersed in the local village environment, with tropical jungle views to be enjoyed in a completely peaceful and tranquil environment. The team here are a delight, from the owner Bene with her personal extensive knowledge of the island and wonderful hospitality to the beautiful locals who are simply charming yet so professional. The décor throughout is so authentic, all individually curated by the owner herself from local craftspeople, each piece a work of art. The food is all locally sourced and carefully prepared by the awesome team who clearly take great pride in their hospitality here. There’s more but I must let you all discover that for yourselves. Highly recommend…..

The Villa Kalisat was perhaps the most amazing hotel experience we’ve ever had. You enter through a traditional family compound to the rear of the property to enter a beautiful rainforest sanctuary overlooking a river gorge. There are only 7 private rooms, each unique and special in their own way. There are two glorious pools and beautiful plants, buddhas, artwork everywhere around this property. Pictures don’t even show how amazing this place is. We stayed in the waterfall room which was a completely private room sitting atop a waterfall. Even with doors and windows closed and AC on, we listened to the sounds of the waterfall all night. What a hidden gem! The staff here are all connected to the family that live on premises and were very friendly, professional, and helpful. The restaurant was awesome and we thoroughly enjoyed our breakfasts and dinners on the terrace overlooking the river gorge. We also had the pleasure of meeting the owners Kim and Bene. Don’t miss the spa if you stay here. The treatments were fabulous adding to the whole retreat experience. The only caveat we would give for staying here is the stairways. If you have trouble climbing stairs please be sure to ask for a room at the top of the villa.

Stunning location for 7 quaint rainforest villas in Ubud. Resort and villas are located on a family compound, which was unique and fascinating to share space with this family who also works at the resort. Villas are private, 2 pools, excellent restaurant overlooking the jungle, and extremely gracious, friendly staff. We were upgraded to the large suite for our 40th anniversary, which was a special treat. We slept each night to the sound of the waterfall below our villa and were greeted by monkeys, beautiful birds, and the locals. Special, Balinese experience. We'll be back!

WARNING this place does not take credit cards and it run out of beers. According to the locals the owner is too tight to have a credit card device installed ! Nice views once your there, free ride into Ubud at 10am but not back. The staff were great, nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was pretty good too especially the black chilli chicken.

Waking up each morning to the sounds of a tumbling river below, looking out to the layers of tropical trees, surrounded by peace and calm. Greeted by smiling, happy staff, an amazing breakfast. It is such a beautiful way to start the day and experience the true Bali. There are only six suites, so it's like a private villa but with the services of a five star hotel. Everything you hope Bali will be and more.
