We had one of the best nights away ever here. From the staff, to the cosy rooms, to the absolutely delicious food, it was amazing. Incredible value too! This restaurant really deserves a Michelin star. Couldn't recommend The Mustard Seed enough. The porridge with whiskey was a real highlight!

WOW! We needed this stay! The moment we walked in, we were home from home. Greeted by a warm log fire and the lovely Oliver who checked us in, with our little dog Grace, who was made to feel most welcome and was allowed through the house, in front of the fire, and our room was absolutely gorgeous, it had french doors out to the grass which is ideal if you are travelling with your dog. Also great for 2 couples as it is like an 2 bed apartment with the luxury of a restaurant. We sat by the fire and had a bottle of wine, Grace laid there until dinner time when we popped her back until we went into the restaurant and had the most delicious food. We wouldn’t even manage desert, these portions are that of your granny! John Edward & Oliver did not have us want for anything, nor anyone else for that matter. The other lovely thing is that locals come here too, that always tells its own story. John Edward, Oliver & Mary, (& the rest of the team) we thank you very much for a very memorable and comfortable stay. We will see you again.

An absolutely amazing place with wonderful staff, cosy rooms and gorgeous food. Lots of great suggestions to plan weather-appropriate excursions, none of which disappointed and some which we would never have discovered otherwise. We brought our dog and she was treated like one of the family. Can’t wait to visit again soon.

First time, but not the last time, here. Stayed 2 nights, and really could not praise this place highly enough. We stayed in dog friendly apartment mews which was superb, but what is memorable and outstanding is the service and the food. It is a small, olde world type place with an eclectic mix of furnishings and delph, extremely relaxed, tranquil and quality of food was amazing.

A friend and I booked the Pastoral Paradise Break. We had a twin room, clean, spacious, and beautifully appointed. The dinners were fantastic and we worked our way through the menu. Breakfast was excellent, particularly enjoyed the fresh fruit selection and the beautifully cooked bacon. We enjoyed the homemade biscuits with tea in the library in the afternoons. The service was excellent from the moment we arrived until we departed. The staff members are, without exception friendly, approachable and efficient. The gardens are lovely and well worth a walk around. The whole experience was wonderful and I intend to repeat but with my husband!

We booked a Pastoral Paradise break here - bed and breakfast and two dinners. Our room was a lovely suite with a nice sitting room and small kitchen and a bedroom upstairs with a view over the lovely garden. There are also nice rooms to sit in and look through the books which are plentiful. Food was delicious and staff very friendly. It is a very relaxing place to stay and about a ten minute drive from the pretty town of Adare.

The Mustard Seed is an absolutely beautiful country house hotel. The place is spotless and the staff are so friendly and efficient. The food is outstanding. We had a delicious 4 course dinner and a wonderful breakfast. I loved that the bread is homemade and the eggs , fruit and vegetables are from the kitchen garden. There is a great wine list too. It was lovely to take a stroll in the grounds after breakfast and to enjoy the peace there in the morning sunshine. I would definitely recommend The Mustard Seed.

We stayed here on Easter Sunday night for b&b and dinner From the moment you arrive up the sweeping drive to This country house hotel you will not be disappointed We were met by Dean who gave us a hassle free check in and escorted us to our room on the ground floor The room was very comfortable and tastefully decorated The bathroom was wheelchair accessible Dinner was absolutely amazing I had the shiitake mushrooms with st tola goats cheese foam and my partner had the Pigeon Both were delicious Then he had the soup as it was flavored with Guinness!!! I had the sorbet which was so Refreshing I had the halibut and he had the beef Both to die for No seasoning required I then had the cheese plate with port with the most delicious puff crackers Overall service excellent and dining room beautifully decorated John Edwards is a great host and runs a really good ship We both slept really well in our comfortable bed Breakfast was superb quality fresh ingredients Thanks for a great stay and memorable early birthday treat Looking forward to returning

We had a family Birthday at the Mustard Seed. We were very disappointed with the starters a nd the main course. Many of the group had steak for main course which they did not enjoy. It was tough and chewy. The fish was also tough and difficult to cut. This was not what we expected. So overall for the large amount of money we paid we felt very let down.
