Banbury (M40, J11)

The stay overall was good. He had a very lovely and quiet room overlooking the Oxford canal in Banbury. The hotel is perfectly well located right next Castle Quay (main shopping centre in Banbury City Centre) There is an arcade right in front of the hotel with cinemas, restaurants, bowling, gaming meters away from the hotel. I would say the location is just great. As for the staff. They were NOT great. I believe they lack of proper training to receive, register and welcome guests.

perfect stay for a drunken night

Rooms were great, lovely and clean, beds very comfy. Great car park. Didn't ear in restaurant, but had a couple of drinks, bar staff and reception lovely and welcoming, shame about the breakfast staff. Awful welcome in the morning, by a stroppy young girl, think her name was Roxanne, very rude and snappy, spent her time banging around the restaurant. Cooks useless, no food, we ended up walking out after half an hour wait for buffet food, no bread for toast, no croissants, no orange juice! Got a refund. Not the only guests to walk out!

A very poorly maintained and shabby looking hotel which is a converted Holiday Inn Express. The welcome at reception was virtually non existent from a disengaged female team member who said hardly a word as we checked in. The automated check in terminals were switched off. Shame about that. They would have probably offered a warmer welcome than the receptionist did. A lift replacement was in progress and the carpets in the hallways were dusty and dirty as a result. The bedroom was grubby looking and the bathroom bore absolutely no resemblance to the highly misleading images shown on the brand’s app and website. The paintwork in the room was badly scuffed and peeling in several places in the bathroom, where the sink would not drain freely. After a long journey we wanted dinner but were made to wait almost 2 hours for a table in a large dining area which was far from full, simply because the property’s kitchen has apparently not got the capacity to deal with multiple orders. The meal was not worth waiting for; I was served poorly presented and badly prepared food which had a very unpleasant, fatty taste. To add insult to injury, when I returned my main as unacceptable I was initially just told “I had nothing to pay” despite having prepaid for a two course meal deal on checking in! On the basis I went largely hungry at this far from ‘premier’ establishment, I insisted on a full refund for my meal deal which was given somewhat grudgingly and without much in the way of an apology. There’s nothing premier about this place at all. The accommodation, food and service were all very much in the amateur / lower leagues in my opinion. I would not return here and could not possibly recommend this hotel to others.

Fantastic hotel with an amazing team and the special Dream Catcher Cocktails was amazing. Special thanks to Kate. Stewart and Mollie made our stay shamazzing. Definitely the perfect start to our holiday dinner and breakfast was 100% thank you.

Hotel's location is very convenient, close to motorway. Friendly staff and standard Premier Inn property. Free car-park and restaurants not far from hotel as well as take-away places for food. Tesco within 5min. drive. Hotel was clean and quiet, as to be expected.
