The hotel is conveniently located at the end of the Ramblas... that's where the positives stop. Located near the entrance of the wax museum, you are faced with a climb of two flights of marble stairs as there is no lift available to reach the hotel reception. The reception is only manned for a portion of the day, which makes access somewhat more difficult. The room we had was viewing onto the Ramblas, which in itself is nice, but the windows were single pane creating noise issues at night. The room itself was tiny and ill equipped : nowhere to hang clothes, the linen was dirty, the shower was mouldy in places. Probably a coincidence, but there were a few pieces of evidence that someone blew the contents of their nose onto the wall... something which had not been removed by the cleaning team! As we did not want to stay another night, we left the facility stating our issues with the accommodation. We were refused an invoice despite having paid in full, nor was there any recognition of the issues we encountered. We moved to another hotel in the Ramblas at the same price level (170 Euro/night) which was very comfortable and what you would expect for that kind of layout. I you want an enjoyable, relaxing stay near the Ramblas avoid this hotel at all cost. Peter
