Bath Mill Lodge Retreat

To be honest until recently I hadn’t read any reviews as we are part of a wedding party all staying on the same complex, however, in recent days I noticed a few negative comments. We stayed in lodge 38, and although spacious, 3 bed two bathrooms, good kitchen facilities. Plenty of storage and plenty or sockets and charging points, Nice comfy lounge and dining area, it does, however, look like only half the lodge has been renovated with some areas looking fresh and cared for, and other areas looking worn and dirty. The main issue for me is the lack of cleanliness. The carpet is dirty and has holes. The shower tray needs sealing and the shower cord needs cleaning. There are stains and scuffs, pulls and scratches, worn and torn areas everywhere. Walls, blinds, floors, cupboards, drawers. The kitchen floor has food on it and the bathroom floor has hair on it. Not adequately swept or mopped. Like I said, some real positives, but then again some very negative and disappointing aspects. Location is great, outside areas are kept tidy. Friendly staff. Easy to locate. Shame no children’s playground and the bar and bistro close at 8. No shop. No DVD player or Netflix. No child friendly cups and plates and Nothing to use when sat outside. Overall It really needs a good thorough clean inside and out, and more care taken to ensure it stays clean and to a good standard, and repairs attended to.

Very disappointing. Was looking forward to this holiday and had booked a luxury lodge . The lodge was anything but luxury. It was tired and grubby. The bathrooms were mouldy and not cleaned and ceilings covered in squashed bugs. Asked for bathrooms to be recleaned and ceilings to be washed. They did clean the ceilings but obviously stood on the toilet to do so and cracked the toilet lid in half so then had to ask them to replace that. The actual bathrooms didn’t look like they had been touched. The sofa’s were all split and uncomfortable to sit on. Waited 1 1/2 hrs to get food at the bistro and very little was available on the menu . When food arrived it was certainly not value for money. The staff were lovely and the grounds well kept so was a shame the rest let them down

Second time staying here and just the little things are starting to let this place down. Arrived at 15:50 and told we would have to wait until after 16:00 to have the keys, no big deal but I'm pretty sure the lodge was ready! The lodge we stayed is starting took tired and could do with some TLC. Location is good as there is a bus just down the drive with regular busses to Bath. Onsite bar/restaurant is nice. As a base this site is ok.

4 Ladies stayed in Lodge 3. Was it clinically clean that you could eat your food off the skirting boards No! Did a little bit of dust affect our weekend No! No dog wee smell or stained carpets in our lodge, it was clean, tidy and quite frankly one of the better places I have stayed at. Ample utensils and crockery. Oven and dishwasher easy to use. Bedrooms clean and tidy. Bathrooms were adequate and showers hot and powerful. We don’t eat or drink at the restaurant on site and most certainly didn’t use the gym so can’t comment on either of those. Uber into Bath centre was around £11. Would very happily return!

Lovely site with river and woods view. Stayed in a pembury lodge, could do with a little tlc and cleaning could be improved , but had everything you needed. On-site restaurant and bar, great staff, ate there 4 times , first 3 excellent but the fourth meal not as good , so did not go back. Reception staff very helpful. Not anywhere to go locally so will need to drive. Bus stop just outside the site up a small hill, took about 20minutes to get into Bath. If you book Uber it is about £9.60 each way, DON’T use the taxi recommended by the site they charge between £13-£15 each way. Take binoculars with you . Take aways will deliver to lodge, also on site restaurant do take away service.

Excellent lodge in great location Refurbished to very good standard with superb walk in shower. Lovely staff in customer services. Child friendly with small play area. Missed 5 stars because of hair found in drawer and refurb missed cabinets on which the wash bowls were placed as these were badly worn.

Spacious 4 bed lodge (especially living space), with basic equipment and furniture as you’d need. Bathrooms are a little ‘tired’ and could do with refurbishment and although the lodge was clean, a deeper clean to remove cobwebs etc would be good. Floorboards squeaky in some areas! Staff (reception/ restaurant and bar) were friendly and helpful. The on site restaurant is a nice facility with reasonable prices.. Grounds were clean and the site was peaceful.

We have stayed at this lodge park 3 times. We returned because it is a lovely location, the lodges are good value, the restaurant/bar has always been good and all the staff are very helpful and friendly. This time, the menu was atrocious, not everyone wants bugers and pitza! The bar closed earlier than advertised, disappointing!Tea and coffee for 2 nights was available in the lodge, but NO MILK, for the first time in some 30 or 40 lodge holidays? We, like others ate and drank out, it seems you are destroying not only your own business, but staff morale as well. Disappointingly will not be back, it seems like you're on the slippery slope!

Stayed in Hartfield lodge this weekend. The interior of the lodge is in need of a deep clean and some maintenance. Our issues (lodge 11): * Bathrooms have a large build up of scum around showers, taps and floors Sofas are distressed * Carpets are covered in dirty marks * Dirt in the corners of rooms and radiators * All cutlery and dishes having to be put back through the dishwasher upon arrival * Mismatched furniture at the dining table and damaged distressed sofas * Walls and doors are all scuffed and general internal condition is in need of some refreshing Pet provisions (at £50 per dog). * Outdoor gates to the balcony decking of our lodge had been removed and replaced with “dog park”, however, the decking is covered in thick green slime so balcony unusable during our stay * This combined with the fact there is a large fast flowing stream immediately opposite the lodge means the animals are confined to lead walks around the site only and cannot enjoy any outside time on the balcony * No supply of any pet bowls or additional supplies, as expected (having received these in other lodges of the same ownership & as mentioned in other recent reviews) The standard of accomodation here is subpar, our complaint was unable to be resolved during our stay. Subsequent follow up and resolution has been poor with little resolution offered and lack of care towards improving to avoid other customers having the same experience.
