I spent two nights at The Great Dane Inn in Beachamwell with my husband, about two weeks ago. The owners are kind, friendly, and always willing to help if need be. The Inn is pet friendly, and well behaved dogs appear to be welcome. When I place our reservation I especially requested a ground floor quiet room over looking the garden, and I was not disappointed. We were allocated a huge room with windows (which could be opened), over looking the side garden. Breakfast was wonderful, mine consisted of fresh copped fruit, orange juice, homemade jam and toast, and a good pot of tea, the service is 100% and the food fresh and well prepared. My husband and I also booked two evening meals which were both excellent. There is a large free carpark attached to the the Inn and a lovely view of the village Green to the front of the property. Unfortunately the small church on the green suffered a fire in February of this year, but we understand that the church which had a thatched roof, will be rebuilt, although this would not inconvenience any visitors to the Inn because the church location is a fair distance away from The Great Danes Inn, also thatching is usually a quite process. If we are visiting that part of the country again we would be happy to stay over, I cannot think of a nicer or more welcoming place to stay, it beats any large Hotel. The Great Dane Inn is a little gem hidden away, in the middle of the countryside. A fresh bottle of milk was waiting for us in our room so we could make ourselves a drink on our arrival, all tea/coffee/biscuits were provided together with a kettle, and a large bottle of water, toiletries/fresh towels and a hairdryer were also included in the rooms facilities, however, you may wish to take along your own shower cap if like me you are particular about your hair getting wet whilst in the shower! Other than that all we can say now is we wish you a happy holiday.
