Golden Eagle Inn

We stayed for 1 night. We had a wonderful time. We enjoyed our room. Our room was on the 3rd floor and we were very happy that it was cool and not baking hot like some top floor rooms can be. We very much enjoyed our stay. The food was fantastic, especially the Rueben and Club sandwiches! We had to leave before the breakfast was serve, so I can not comment on that.

The food and family atmosphere was great. We stayed in the Anderson room and enjoyed the gas fireplace, high ceilings, and charm. The building could use a refresh and the onsite owners seemed a bit tired due to their devotion and long hours. Soups were good and breakfast was great!

This was my 2nd stay at the Golden Eagle, and it was just as great as the 1st. The owners and staff were extremely accommodating. Our rooms were clean, well appointed, and the bed/pillows were COMFORTABLE! Breakfast both mornings were very tasty, as well. The restaurant and pub serve delicious food, and the menu is superior to run-of-the-mill bar food. The inn's location is also great, it's right in the heart of Historic Bedford, a short walk from any of the fun shops "downtown". Thank you, Mary J, Tom and Martha for making our girl's getaway weekend a thoroughly enjoyable one!

Hidden treasure in Bedford, PA ....the Golden Eagle Pub, downstairs in the Golden Eagle Inn. Very intimate, rustic, totally-charming Irish Pub with full bar service (generous pours, no skimping on contents). Very distinguished wine list, well curated. Not expensive. Great menu from the dining room upstairs...try the General Tso Cauliflower appetizer...five of us enjoyed one serving and we had leftovers. Excellent welcoming service in a relaxed setting. Right in downtown Bedford.

Our stay here was fantastic. My wife and I did not know the history of this truly small town but learned so much as we strolled the streets before dinner. Upon our arrival, each person was aware of the food allergies that my wife has, without hesitation they knew the moment we mentioned our names. This level of service was repeated during our stay. Each meal the server knew and confirmed the allergies. The food was great and the service at each meal was excellent. We stayed in the Farmers room. It was very clean, neat, and quaint. It is a large room and included 2 stands for each of our suitcases which we rarely experience. Traveling from Cleveland to Philadelphia, this was a great halfway stop and would make this a stop the next time.

This is a great place to meet, exactly half way between Pittsburgh and Harrisburg. We have stayed before and will stay again in the future, probably yearly. The staff is wonderful, the food is great, and it is centrally located in walking distance to a lot of shops and restaurants. Highly recommended!

Loved our stay! Easy check-in/out. Spacious, tastefully decorated room with comfortable bed & pillows. We received bottled water in an ice bucket and snack upon check-in. My husband had a great dinner in the pub while I attended an event next door. Breakfast was absolutely delicious. Can't wait to stay again. Wonderful inn keepers!

Tom and Mary J and on-site staff provide the most accommodating stay you could ever ask for. The rooms are clean and historical, the pub is nothing short of a culinary delight. The whiskey bar on the first floor is amazing, and do not sleep through the farm to table breakfast! It's utterly amazing. We've made a habit of visiting every fall and spring for 3 years now and the Eagle always goes above and beyond to ensure a great stay. The Golden Eagle is a gem in the heart of a fantastic town with so much to offer.

Rustic & Beautiful property. Friendly & helpful staff. Wonderful breakfast that was included in our stay. The town has so many great shops and unique stores. Can't wait to come back and explore more. The pub downstairs was a fun time. Thanks for the great experience!
