The Villa Bentota by KK Collection

Villa Bentota is without fault. Sublime setting, beautiful and well considered suites, gorgeous service and some of the best food we have had in the world. If you have the opportunity to stay here TAKE it!!! It is spectacular right from the second you arrive.

We had our 2 day wedding at Villa Bentota by KK collection. We cannot put into words how perfect this venue was for our wedding. We used different parts of the complex for different parts of the wedding which gave each part a different unique experience. The outdoor space was spacious and very well kept. To walk over the train tracks to get to the beach gave an authentic feel to the whole thing. All the rooms very amazing. They were constantly kept clean, water bottles and filtered water available throughout the property. Great menu options from Sri Lankan dishes to western dishes. The beach is also very beautiful and generally quiet. It’s perfect for our beach ceremony. Staff were so attentive and went the extra mile for us and every guest. Everything they did was with a smile which just made everyone feel so welcome. Big shout out to Mr Ruwan, any questions regarding food and drinks he will resolve. Always available and will do his best to make everything perfect for you. Mr Kalpa has been fantastic during the planning process, no question was too small and no question went unanswered. Nothing was a problem and he catered to unexpected situations on the day such as changing last minute meals to allowing us to have an unexpected pool party. In short if you’re deciding to stay here, have an event here or even a wedding. Don’t hesitate, just book and trust they will do everything in their control to make your stay/wedding the best.

Had the best time at Villa Benthota. Although we stayed for 1 night the hotel contacted me closer to the date of arrival and offered an upgrad to the Mohotti suite which was a bonus! Overall the staff were very kind and attentive and the hotel was well maintained...you could sometimes hear the train as the property was bodering the tracks but that didn't bother us as the property had a well maintained foot path to the beach across the tracks. In a nutshell we had a fabulous time at Villa Benthota. Will definitely come back!

I had high expectations for this “heritage property,” but unfortunately, it was a letdown. First, the drainage system is a disaster—it simply doesn’t work. Be prepared for bathroom issues during your stay. The worst part, though, is the location. It’s right next to train tracks, and let me tell you, good luck getting any sleep with trains roaring past at all hours. If you’re after peace and tranquility, this is definitely not the place. Now, be very careful when booking because the cancellation policies are extremely strict. They seem far more focused on squeezing every penny out of their guests than actually providing good service. Despite the hotel being barely 30% full, there’s zero flexibility or consideration. Don’t expect any understanding from management either—George, in particular, made sure that every detail of their penny-pinching policies was enforced to the letter, leaving no room for discussion. It’s unfortunate to say, but the KK Collection seems more interested in protecting their bottom line than in ensuring guests have a pleasant experience.

Best Customer Service ever. We had the whole place rented out together with friends and family. The location is superb. Very beautiful and attention to detail is just stunning. The staff was so attentive and responsive I have never ever had this anywhere I have been. Gardinal was taking care of all the allergies and dietary desires etc. and was always on top of things regarding our needs and wishes. The food was superb rooms very clean and all in all the stay totally worth it. Not one single guest had something to complain. Would recommend 10/10

We held our two day wedding at the villa bentota in february 2025. it was everything we ever dreamed. whilst the venue is obviously stunning and had enough rooms for our immediate family as well as different landscapes for different events (lawn, mangroves, beach), the standouts were the staff - everyone was so friendly, warm, welcoming and approachable from the planning stage through to the clean up and aftermath. they really looked after us and we were a considerable crowd of 140 people! kalpa in particular was our point of contact throughout and he along with chamodh, the new food and beverage lead and chef were excellent. i should also mention the food and drink - we wanted a completely sri lankan menu and sent them a proposed menu which included buffet, sit down meal, canapes and cocktails - they blew us out the water regarding our requests (including my mum who is hard to impress!). the food was delicious as well as authentic for our international guests and interesting and different for our sri lankan guests. the chef and his team are truly talented and we are so so so happy we chose kk for our wedding venue. they - along with Hemant Dadlani wedding planners - helped to bring our dream wedding to life and showcase the best of Sri Lanka - people, food, drink, music. thankyou!
