Hotel Slalom

A lovely traditional small chalet-style hotel for rooms and breakfast. Rooms have a modern wooden feel, not chintzy. Had balcony with wide open views over the valley to the south, with gentle cowbells in the distance. Breakfast is good with 'usual' mix of cereals, bread, cheese ham and eggs. Owner is low key so suits those who enjoy quiet, unfussy hospitality. Can have ride to & from cablecar in the buggy if needed, but it's not far in decent weather. Good eating places within a stroll from hotel.

very nice and clean room. The view from the terrace of the room is wonderful. The staff help us to transport the luggage to the hotel. The breakfast is good. The location is good. And the town is very quiet and nice.

I stayed at Hotel Slalom for one night in February 2022, on a stopover before travelling to Zermatt, but I was so impressed with the quality of the hotel and the friendliness of the service. I'll definitely be coming back! Although I only booked a single room, it had a balcony with the most awesome view across the Valais alps. The room was also very clean and modern with the wonderful Swiss chalet touch. Karin and Reto are very friendly and welcoming hosts, this added to the charm of the hotel which is not too big, but big enough to feel comfortable in. This will not be the only time for me to visit Bet**eralp, which is just beautiful, I'd happily stay at Hotel Slalom again. Thank you for the warm service and the great breakfast. This hotel also has a very clean and exceptionally well run kitchen ;)

The team makes everything possible to make your stay enjoyable. rooms are new, very clean, well isolated. The view on the mountains is stunning, transportation from and to the station very well organiyed. The breakfast is rich, healthy, offers diverse products, several joghurts, fruits, home made granola (!) and vegan porridge, local cheese, nice salami, and wonderful bread and viennoiseries. You really feel at home, a very nicely ran family hotel: we will be back.

We spent 5 nights at the hotel & loved it! Really comfortable room & lovely staff. Reto picked us up from the Seilbahn with the snow mobile & was very helpful making reservations for dinner. The hotel is perfectly located, close to the main street & close to the ski lifts which can be reached on skis from the hotel. The free minibar was a nice bonus.

Really typical wooden chalet hotel set in beautiful scenery and within the village. Great shower. Breakfast was delicious. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Long time since I have received this good service. Hotel is close to pistes ( ski in ski out) and restaurants and shops.

We loved Hotel Slalom! It was very clean and exactly what we hoped for. The room and whole hotel was very cozy and had lots of character. The staff was really friendly and gave some great recommendations. The breakfast was delicious. The view and property were stunning!

One of the very best stays I had lately! Hosts are extremely friendly and helpful! I recommend that place for all the people interested in a calm, charming place to have a peaceful holiday! Vues from the room! Breathtaking!

We arrived at sunset at Bet**eralp. A little hamlet in the grand Swiss Alps. Quaint, calm, and beautiful. The SLALOM, run by a charming couple, Karin and Reto is on a slope with a view over the mountains of the Valais, that makes your heart want to stay. Forever. The minute you get there. And we stayed 4 days, felt at home, free and welcomed by friends. The apart was the 31, two rooms, 4 beds, hyper charming, all wood, comfy, clean and inspiring. The breakfast, delicious, prepared by Karen or Reto depending of their occupations. One has a passion for yoga and the other for flyfishing. (Yoga retreats are organized once a year. Follow @ mountainglow.ch) From Slalom, it was very easy to hike the many trails of the Aletsh area, the glacier, the forests, the lakes, the Betterhorn and the final trail in the evening to the bar close by. Hundreds of trails to choose from. Hundred of awesome landscapes to heal a soul…. A lot of info can be found online, but the things you cannot find online, is the steadiness, readiness friendliness and inspiration of the people running the Slalom hotel, Karin, Reto, and one great person to the name of Tobee. I have rarely met a person that does what he does out of a large and genuine generosity, more than anything else. Thank you for making our stay unforgettable and so cool. Thank you for the many gifts. Coming from Lebanon, one cannot think but to bless the day, and thank life for putting us on such a beautiful property. Danielle
