This is an amazing property!
We stayed in the cobblestone suite. It had a separate seating area, access to a wonderful balcony, a walk-in shower, and a comfortable king size bed. They also provided extra linen/blankets in the closet.
It can be a little confusing on how to access the security desk where you check in and then the hotel but if you follow the very detailed instructions that they send to you and use Google maps to locate the areas you will be fine.
You have to first park in the visiting parking lot located at morris and 20th avenue. Then walk a few feet to the double doors of the John hand building. They will have your key card already set. When you go back to your car if you look directly across the street (still on Morris) you will see a parking deck entrance. There will even be a sign (John Hand club parking). Use your key card to access both parts of the perking deck. One you park where the security directs you to park there are two double doors.. you enter and take the elevator to the designated floor and find your suite from there
There are only 6 suites I believe. Each one with a different name.
There is a community kitchen that the staff hand stocked with beverages, fruit and for breakfast- bagels, fruit bars, yogurt.
The hotel is located downtown Birmingham and there are several shops and restaurants within walking distance.
This was an amazing stay and I will always stay at John Hand Club whenever I am in Birmingham.
