I am a photographer, and the motel is favorably located near the areas I photograph. It is clean, and the check in and out process is fantastic. It has a great atmosphere. The only negative was the shower, which was either too hot, or too cold, as the knob turned off the shower in the middle of turning it to hot from cold.There is no middle ground to control it.

Great view (from anywhere in town). Good mattress. TV not large, and no good movie channels. More dining options in Lone Pine or Bishop.

I can't understand why, but the pillows had a plastic cover that made the sleeping experience a not so pleasant sleep.
The night was like sleeping on a plastic bag covered with cotton, it was close to impossible..
Besides this, the room was big and nice, but I value my sleeping experience high.

Excellent spot for excellent price. Everything was spotless and comfy. Perfect for us and our pups. Walk to all eateries and next to the convenient country store. Great stop on the 395.

The motel is a great example of a 1950s small town road hotel that has been undated and maintained. The whole idea is a comfortable place to stay and not super fancy. Great bed, big bathroom with tub/shower, coffee pot, frig, microwave, 100 stations on a smaller LCD TV. There are free bbqs in a common area if you want to grill. The store where you check in is pure country grocery store but with a great deli and very cold beer. Fill up at the store Chevron gas station and price was lower than other Chevrons. We stayed one night in November 2023 and loved it. But if you need more than the basics, keep move on up the road 40 miles to Bishop.

For the area, the room was better than others I experienced. Parking was an issue. No place was open for dinner so we had to drive to Bishop.

Great hotel in Big Pine, convenient to hiking and other adventures in Sierra Nevada and White Mountains. Clean, comfortable rooms at a great price.

The rooms are simple and clean. A great stopover and excellent price for what you get. The only drawback is the closeness with HWY 395.
