If you like alpine flair with an artistic twist, like good food and a crackling fire, but can do without the pretentious attitude and overinflated price tag that often comes with it? Then try out the Walliserhof in Brand! Visible effort has gone into turning the public and private rooms in the two buildings into stylish and cosy places, with a funky twist. Family rooms with balcony offer ample space for families of 3 or 4, with kids taking the bunkbed that's separate from the parental bedroom. Rooms without balcony and/or separate shower (hand browser in the bathtub only) less so. Throughout the public spaces, there are cosy seating arrangements and several fires, alpine-style deco, natural colours and fabrics ooze a relaxed and warm atmospere. The kitchen is definitely a cut above what we have experienced in other places with a similar price tag and comes highly recommended! Despite the obvious Covid related measures & etiquette (mask wearing obviously well enforced!), we have experienced all staff to be welcoming and intent on making our stay very enjoyable indeed. It isn't ski-in-ski-out, and the ski bus didn't run as frequently as one might expect, but the walk to the main lift in town isn't all that long, and didn't even trigger complaints from our 11 YO :-) Overall rated excellent for a welcome break over New Years, chilling out, enjoying good food and and fun time on the slopes with family & friends.
