Stayed with friends at the end of the second stage of the Coast To Coast Walk. We booked direct on a D,B&B basis. The booking process was efficient and helpful. The hotel was well located for the end of the second section of the C2C Walk and is possibly better located than Rosthwaite for moving onto the next section. The hotel is very well decorated and furnished. The single rooms are not large but sufficient and more than adequate for single accommodation. The reception, bar, lounge and dining room are lovely. Dinner was superb. We all had lamb and it was absolutely superb. Breakfast was also very good. Staff were all warm, welcoming and helpful. All in all, good value for money. And, by the way, great views.

Of all the places we stayed in the Lakes on our coast to coast trip this had a more upmarket hotel feel with a fantastic restaurant. It was nice to feel treated and we were meeting an old friend so a great evening was had. Only issue is that I would have upgraded to a double room as the single room and bed were a little small.

We walked down to Seatoller from Manesty and chanced upon the Glaramara Hotel. Warm welcome from reception and bar staff, really comfortable stylish interior. Our coffees and shortbread were really nice! Lounge area was busy with residents, most of whom appeared to be happy regulars. We enjoyed our short visit and imagine this would be a lovely place to stay.

A 5 star experience with a comfortable, well appointed room, looked recently renovated. All super clean, and clear that the owners take great pride in their establishment. Super, friendly and helpful staff. Great evening meal and a great breakfast experience, and packed lunch provision.

The Glaramara Hotel is absolutely excellent. Recently refurbished rooms, a very high standard of accommodation throughout and excellent food. Everything was very high quality. After two hard days in the fells it was a lovely place to return to. Highly recommended.

We were taken in by the lovely people at the Glaramara Hotel after we capsized traumatically in the river Derwent and losing most of our belongings, such as car keys, phone and money. Sharon Spate was so kind for drying our clothes, and the lovely receptionist, that we were silly not to get her name, helped us so much, allowing us to get in contact with family and being so hospitable, as well as Adrian at the bar. They looked after us until our ride came with a spare car key to allow us to search for our belongings and canoe. We are so grateful for their kindness and we would recommend anyone to stop by for a drink or a nights stay as we hope to soon.

Just called in today (23rd Aug) for a drink as been walking in Borrowdale. What a find! Lovely friendly staff, gorgeous interior and superb views. I had coffee and a divine piece of shortbread! We liked it so much we are going to climb Glara Mara mountain tomorrow and hopefully call in again. Really recommend.

This is an amazing Hotel. I had to call in today 22.08.24 (not my first time) due the roads being flooded after heavy rain last night. Basically trapped in Borrowdale for the morning. The place is very calm, the staff are amazingly professional, polite and very friendly. They actually understand that the Hospitality business is about being Hospitable. And guess what they can do it with a Capital H. The whole property exudes attention to detail, is exceedingly clean and very well presented. A lot of other businesses could learn a lot from them. 10/10 from me. Thanks All.

We stayed here during our Coast to Coast Walk and found it to be a wonderful oasis after a long days walk. The friendliness of the staff and the quality of the rooms and food were of a very high standard. We were fed well and had a good nights sleep enabling us to carry on for another day.
