Quaint little guest house ideally situated close to the town. Everything at hand within minutes of walking distance. Friendly host. Comfortable room. Breakfast ample, lovely little breakfast room and great service. Would recomened and would stay again..

Julie and her husband were extremely convivial hosts and gave us really good advice on what to do and where to go e.g local restaurants, pubs, outings etc. The room and ensuite although compact, provided everything we needed and expected from a “traditional “ bnb. As for the breakfasts, they were one of the best we had in our 3 weeks in England. Centrally located in a quiet street you were literally a couple of minutes walk to the Main Street with everything a traveller wants or needs. Monica and Maurice NZ

An odd one this. A few things let it down. Bedroon small but adiquate. Clean. Comfy bed. The 'wardrobe' was 6 hangers on the wall in a position that if anything hung there it would be draped at the side of where the kettle plugged in and standing. Bit hazardos ? On arrival continually rang the phone number(s) indicated on the boards outside but no anwser. No one about. After waiting about 15 mins with our cases I aukwardly walked through to the dining area shouting hello. Then owner appeared sayinig if we had been ringing he'd not heard it. He waved an envelope that had been on a table inside the door with our name on it etc. Bit confused there. Were we supposed to walk in see the envelope and take that as booking in ? First morning we came down to what we thought would be breakfast. (blerb in roon said 8am - 9am) Expecting a nice leasurely wake up to begin the day over coffe and a full English etc. Nothing ....... and no one about ! Didn't get any explanation until we met the owner in the street on the last full day of our stay. Seems the cook was off this week and would we like a breakfast on the last morning of our stay before going home? Not ideal . . . .

Greatly located place, very cosy feel. Warmly welcomed by the lovely couple who run the house, who keep it very tidy and super clean! Julie left refreshments next to our luggage when we collected them to leave, such a lovely gesture! Couldn’t have had a better experience and definitely recommend!! If ever back in Bowness we know where to stay. Thank you so much!

A very enjoyable stay, host very friendly and professional nothing to much trouble would highly recommend Guest House to anyone. The free parking a big bonus considering how near the location is for Windermere lake. Breakfast options superb with the Guest House being near to numerous option for lunch and dinner.

Our room was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was excellent and just what we needed to set us up for the day. The hosts, Julie and Russell are friendly and helpful. It is only a short walk to the shops, cafes and restaurants and the pier for the boats around Windermere. We had a lovely stay.

This was probably our nicest experience staying in the Bowness/Windemere area. The property is obviously very well looked after, we had two nights of excellent sleep, nice big TV, and great breakfast - generous with good choices available too. A new fan and a small fridge completed the room so you can chill 2 or 3 bottles of wine and other bits and bobs. It had on-street parking and a small car park reserved for guests towards the end of the road too around 100 metres away, but you need to drive past the property to see it ahead of you. The owners, Julie and Russell were genuinely excellent hosts and very accommodating. Will definitely use Melbourne again. it will be our 'go to' when we are in the Lakes. Oh, also great position for walking into Bowness or Windermere. Tons of bars and eating places. I think you will enjoy it too.

Excellent guest house …. We had a loft room which yes was smallish but immaculate…. Everything we could possibly need even a small fridge … we only had on le breakfast but what we had was very good quality …. Julie and Russel the owners are very friendly and attentive ….

The stay was lovely the owners where friendly and the room was spotlessly clean . I must say it was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in wish I could of taken the bed home .The breakfast was hearty and tasty a great start to the day . We will return and definitely recommend this little gem of a bed and breakfast .
