Storrs Gate House

A very warm welcome from Susan and Glen the owners of this pretty B and B. What beautiful hosts. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Our room was very spacious and absolutely spotless and the decor beautifully done with little pretty touches. Our four poster bed was extremely comfortable and there was plenty of storage for our stuff. The breakfast was delicious and plenty of it. The organic natural yogurt was served with fresh fruit and was delicious. Lyn was very friendly and so attentive. Susan and Glen were extremely helpful and knowledgeable about events and the surrounding areas. We will definitely be returning to this gem of a place.

Well what a gorgeous weekend we have just had. We were welcomed on Friday by Susann, who was so lovely and helpful the whole weekend; giving us tips of places to visit. The room was top floor, lovely and warm and homely with quite possibly the BEST shower on earth. So powerful, i wanted to stay in there for hours! Amazing location with access to walks, ferry and boat trips and close to lots of pubs, restaurants and coffee places. Let’s talk about the breakfast. I dreamt about it last night. We both had the yogurt, fresh fruit and granola to start and then full breakfast for the main course, which was cooked perfectly and so filling. On the second morning I went for the salmon and scrambled eggs on muffin and it was quite literally the most delicious thing I’ve ever put In my mouth. Huge thanks to Glen for cooking it. Also wanted to mention Vicky who works in the morning ; she was so lovely and, again, had lots of helpful tips to share on the local area. A real ‘family’ feel and we will definitely be returning one day.

We received a warm welcome from Glynn & Susan at this cosy feeling guest house. Room 4 was one of the smaller rooms but well appointed and clean. Good bed linen, comfortable bed, fluffy towels & small fridge. Breakfast was well cooked and more than you could wish for. Our hosts were friendly and helpful, providing information and recommendations for the local area, including a picturesque leisurely lakeside walk (20mins) into Bowness. The guesthouse is situated on the confluence of two roads, however although we heard traffic at times, during the night it was very peaceful. We would have no hesitation in returning.

Absolutely superb stay, wonderful surroundings and accommodation. Brilliant location. First class breakfast and service and a lovely friendly a**osphere made for a stellar weekend. Kudos to Sue and Glenn for running quite frankly the best B&B We've ever stayed. We've already booked for my wife's ( also Sue : ) birthday in December.

We had a lovely time in the Lake District, and it helped a lot that Susan and Glynn at Storrs Gate House were fantastic hosts - the place is well located just outside of the centre of Bowness on Windermere. Starting with parking there's plenty of space at the B&B and its quite secure - I've been to other locations where you can struggle for parking....then when you get in the rooms are lovely - our bedroom was not the largest, but was spacious with new fittings, and a lovely king bed. Breakfast in the morning was great and more than we could manage, with Granola for me, fruit and yoghurt for my wife, and then a full English breakfast with toast and tea/coffee. Overall I definitely would recommend Storrs Gate House to anyone visiting the area.

What a great find with fantastic hosts Susann and Glenn who make you feel incredibly welcome from the moment you arrive. Stayed in Room 1 which was beautiful and immaculately clean and kitted out with White Company products. Breakfast was delicious with lots of variety together with the delightful Lyn helping you with the planning of your day, walks, buses etc… Perfectly located with a 10 minute walk into Bowness. Nothing was too much trouble and loved staying here. Wouldn’t hesitate to return and highly recommend.

Wonderful stay at Stores Gate House - Susann and Glen were fantastic hosts. The rooms were lovely and clean and the breakfast was absolutely delicious! It was also a wonderful location, really easy to get to places and a short walk to the centre with lots of good pubs and restaurants! Definitely recommended staying here and we look forward to another visit soon

We loved our stay, hosts were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfy, we stayed in room 4 and the shower was amazing! 10-15mins walk into bowness, ferry crossing over the road and a nice restaurant on the marina so ideal location. On site parking Breakfast was delicious ! Would certainly stay again.

We've holidayed in The Lakes so many times over the years visiting family but this is the first time we've stayed at Storrs Gate House and it will now be our "go to" place. Spotlessly clean and so comfortable and welcoming. Beautifully decorated and the breakfasts are incredibly filling and fresh with a wide selection to choose from. Glenn and Susann are two of the loveliest people you could hope to meet and you can tell that they love what they do.
