Lovely place to stay , lovely friendly staff , I enjoyed the room and breakfast It was a pleasant atmosphere The staff went out of their way to help I would definitely go and stay again I will recommend , to my friends and family to stay there The bar was placed well so I could have a nice drink, it was nice to have teas and coffee in the room

Friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast, lots of choice. Beautiful old building, many different kind of rooms, the bar area is very relaxing, the bartender was very friendly Got recommendation where to eat out, walking distance. Excellent location

Such a shame that what was once a lovely hotel with a wonderful restaurant and carvery has been reduced to a very ordinary and basicB&B. I've been going terr for nearly 40 years both yo eat and ti stay and in my last visit in October 2024 the writing was onthe wall. I would not have stayed again but it was convenient. Breakfast okbut bacon had been kept warm for so long, it was impossible to cut so i sent it back. The replacement came out very quickly and was much the same.I asked how long it had been keeping warm and was told it was freshly cooked, I don't think so. All the food was of a very basic quality. Water pressure had obviously been turned down as very low pressure and yet the showers used to be superb. Toiletries left from a previous guest. Coffee not replenished and no spare toilet roll. Considering how the place had declined I did not think it worth the money£11 a night increase on last October. I will not be staying there again and I fear the for sale sign will be appearing soon

I've stayed here infrequently over a long period. The setting is very pleasant, and the service (reception and restaurant) very good and polite, but the quality of the breakfast and the rooms disappoint. Breakfast has recently transferred from buffet style to ordering for cooked items. But there was no fresh fruit on offer, orange juice tasted cheap (concentrate), no croissants, low quality breads.... It has never been a 5 star breakfast, but has now moved from 4 stars to 3 in my view. Bedrooms are a bit hit and miss too, some rooms have very soft mattresses.

very very clean beds realy comfy staff very friendly food very well cooked not soft and squidgy served on hot plates the only downfall was the cost of a drink but yoy get what you pay for would go again when visiting family. Well done to all staff

Absolutely brilliant! Amazing staff, delicious breakfast, lovely king size bed Although the restaurant was closed you could have continental or English breakfast as well as cereal, toast tea and coffee The staff couldn’t do enough for us The room was dated but very clean with tea and coffee facilities Lovely modern shower On site parking

My wife and I have just stayed here for one night having had a lovely stay some years ago. I was gutted to find out that the restaurant was now closed especially as on a Sunday there is nowhere else to eat locally unless you are a curry lover. Our room was large and very comfortable although the shower required running around in it to get wet. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was nice. Excellent car parking and lovely small lounge although our quiet period in there was totally ruined by a very noisy and heavily inebriated couple.

Welcoming, clean, large rooms, walk in shower, large TV, Wi-Fi, very comfortable and airy. We slept well. Excellent breakfast which we tastily enjoyed, cooked and presented appetisingly and kept us full for the day. Plenty of free parking safely. Lovely garden to relax and enjoy. Very polite and pleasant staff. A very beautiful homely hotel. Many interesting places in the village of Bamber with Tudor homes and castle. We are planning to visit and stay again.

We arrived in the afternoon and shown to our room which was out of the 1970s! The room had an overpowering smell of air freshener. Mustard coloured curtains with a frilly pelmet. We paid for an upgraded room but were very disappointed. No towels in the bathroom, we asked for clean towels from reception and were given damp towels which had just been laundered, so we put them over the radiator The breakfast was poor, we had a full English. My husband said he could mend the sole of his shoes with the bacon it was so hard. The sausages were inedible, hard and poor quality.
