Elisabeth Old Town

The hotel was good, but it feels a bit overpriced as I booked even better one for the same price in Vienna, which is a contrast city in terms of the price. Gentleman at the reception was friendly. Bear in mind that the hotel will charge additional city tax when you move in. The hotel itself was more less clean, but the room was not spotlessly cleaned to be honest. I had some hair on the soap dispenser and some threads in the bath. The bed was a bit small and short, furniture was slightly damaged. The door had old post soviet style of faux leather Ron top and I was wondering why… I woke up at the middle of the night from the screams of the children that were so loud in the corridor for some reason. The sound insulation is not good at all there sadly and the fabric door did not really help. The hotel has nice authentic lobby which reminds a Soviet porch with Persian carpets. I booked 1 month in advance for 26th of December and paid $68, which I think is overpriced, considered the quality and space of the room. If it was cheaper, I’d have given more starts for this review. It is ok for one night if you just come and fall asleep. Hotel needs renovation.

The Staff were very good. The Hotel is an old building but very recently refurbished so the 2 rooms we used over 2 separate night stays were excellent. Very hot water with good pressure in the showers and bath. The location is good as only 5 minutes walk to the Old City Centre or river. It is a 25 minute walk from the main railway centre and bus station from the airport. The general area is flat re walking. It is not on a main road so no major traffic noise. Very cheap local bus/tram links. A few bars and restaurants nearby. Our only issue was working out how to use the TV but we eventually worked it out! We were happy and would definitely use it again.

Very well-located, at the heart of the centre. Had issues with cleanliness and state of the room. It had hair on the bedsheets and duvet. Awful smell through the drain and toilet.

Excellent location to old town, friendly staff and decent breakfast. The room was very small and a bit too hot though. You couldn’t open the window for outside air, only to a tall “back hallway” (nobody walking through there though) to get slightly cooler air into the room.

Room was very small which in itself wasn't a problem but unfortunately a radiator right next to the bed, which was on very high and could not be turned off or even adjusted made this a very unpleasant night. Staff unable to help and didn't seem to appreciate the obvious problem. Unable to sleep at all during the night and was relieved to leave at 5am to head to the airport.

Very nice hotal within easy walking distance to the centre of the old town. Very good room ,complete with a very lovely breakfast . Bratislava is a very lovely city full of exciting places to see and a very commendable Christmas market experience. Many thanks to all at the Elizabeth Hotel
