Chicago Southland Hotel

The hotel with a shared parking lot is doing construction. Therefore the parking lot is tore up. First red flag but it was already pd by then. The pics are true but not. I did not visit the pool so idk. It was open tho which is a plus for this time of year. The staff was wonderful and very nice. Staff at the desk at z2a and everything. Thank you. Now the stay… there were patches missing on the walls and a bunch of dlvd boxes in the lobby and hall as if they were doing construction as well even tho they’re not. Maybe soon, idk The sound barrier…. Omg…the rooms on each side of me were loud. One room was arguing at the top of their lungs at 2a. The other side just talks extra extra loud. Sounded like a party at 2a but after dosing off and waking up at 6a, it was just a man and woman couple who’s in there talking loud. Now 8:11a and she hasn’t shut the hell up yet. Check out is noon tho so “if” they ever shut u, others can possibly sleep. I’m prepping to leave. 2 hrs from home. I’m going home to my own quiet. I understand it’s a hotel but at some point there has to be courtesy for the other customers. Ijs

Not a very good breakfast selection … they didnt have enough towels in my room but gave clean ones when i asked for more . Very kind staff. Very clean room looks as advertised !!! No bugs!!!! Very comfortable stay.will definitely book again

Staff does not provide room cleaning unless you ask for it. This was not communicate at check in. Furniture in room and carpets are in bad repair. Limited parking and major construction having next to hotel.

This hotel is simply terrible. I really dislike having to write a bad review but this was terrible. The whole hotel claims to be none smoking and that is the farthest from the truth! We had to leave the vent on in our bathroom with how bad it was coming in from the hall. There were zero wash cloths and when asked for clean towels was told there wasn’t any available. A jetted tub room was booked and that’s not what we got, when questioning the front desk the woman stated that’s our room because they are completely booked. TV remote only turned the TV on, would not change the channel or your volume. The Elevator continued getting stuck and you had to pry it open/shut to work. Will not book this place again.

The staff was great. Very friendly and polite. The building was a mess. The elevator didn’t work. People were loud banging and slamming doors all night. A small issue was house keeping knocking on door at 10:00 AM asking if I would be checking out.

There was no Wi-Fi when we arrived and we could only pay in cash so we had to leave and get $600 some odd dollars in cash to avoid their ridiculous A** fees. They had our rooms wrong as well. I had my two children with me that were looking forward to swimming, but the pool was actually down the whole four days we were there! And to top it off, the elevator was broke the majority of the time, and we had to take stairs with my two elderly parents! The staff was very rude, and hard to understand with the thick accents that they had. The Night Shift worker was actually sitting in the chair, talking on the phone, picking crud and dead skin from between her toes, and didn’t wash her hands to help us when we needed a new key for our room. I have never experienced anything like this in any hotel in my life and we will absolutely never return to this hotel!

Much better stay than most. Need to clean up the trash in the back parking lot but overall a good stay. Clean smells fresh and comfortable bed.

It was good price for the hotel friendly staff property needs little upgrade overall it was good
