Hotel Duc de Bourgogne

Excellent stay. We experienced so many aspects of this fascinating region of Belgium, including being hosted at the Duc De Bourgogne Hotel. Even though it is a historic building, it has all the amenities and comforts you need to relax after a day in Brugges, including a great restaurant. Our booking was easy. The pre-information packet was timely and thorough. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. This hotel offers a really good breakfast, with a variety of delicious options and a gorgeous view of the canals in Brugges. I would like to extend my special thanks to Stephan (If I did not forget his name), a very attentive and kind employee, a football lover, and a fan of Club Brugge. Our daughter loved the hot chocolate he served. It is really good to go with your family and enjoy the excellent atmosphere of the hotel. We loved it and recommend it.

The trip was postponed so I requested to change dates as the stay was fully paid. The hotel was not helpful and refused our request despite a flexible reservation and have kept the first night of the stay tariff. I was prepared to pay a fee to change the dates so I will not stay there on the rescheduled date and will be booking an alternate accommodation for our trip. I would have hoped they would have changed the dates rather than lose the other nights payment

This is a beautiful, romantic hotel, our room overlooked the canal and was very comfortable and spacious. The bathroom was clean and modern, we went during a heatwave so it would have been nice to have air conditioning and a refrigerator, but at the price we paid it was more than reasonable. This was our 16th visit to Bruges but our first stay in this hotel and we loved it. The girl who checked us in and served breakfast each morning was so smiley and welcoming and even gave me a hug on our last day, ( I’m afraid I didn’t catch her name, but she was a star )breakfast was fresh and plentiful with great coffee. I’ve already booked my husband and I in for next year, we love Bruges.

Beautiful old property. We have stayed here twice before, but not at Christmas, when the building really looks fabulous inside and out. This time we had Room 4, a large room at the back, overlooking the canal. It had two comfortable armchairs, great to relax with a lovely view. Last time we were at the front. While the square outside is busy, once the restaurants close it was very quiet as I recall. Room 4 is old-fashioned, in a good way. The bathroom is modern. Everything spotlessly clean. There was an Nespresso machine in the room. Annoyingly, the WiFi was erratic. Lovely breakfast room / restaurant directly underneath our room, with the same views of the canal. Good continental breakfast. Great coffee. The staff were much friendlier than I remember from previous visits. Because it’s an old building, soundproofing is not great. The chatter from the restaurant finished at 23:20 after which I didn’t hear a voice all night. Breakfast started at 08:00, though I didn’t hear any noise from downstairs. Someone playing music woke me at about 01:20. It wasn’t loud, possibly from the room next door, but it was annoying. The hotel sign, on the wall outside our window, squeaked when a breeze blew. This definitely interrupted sleep. This review would be a 5 except for the WiFi and the squeaky sign.

I didnt realize this hotel was basically in the "most photographed part of Bruges"...I thought it was pretty reasonably priced, excellent location, and enjoyed the nice breakfast that comes with the room. Very accommodating in leaving my luggage after check out to continue to explore the town.

Unbeatable location for an affordable price. Our room was spacious, the bathroom was good and functional. The breakfast was included in the price and it was simple and good with a prime view of the canals. The reception was attentive and the check out as well.

We LOVED our stay here. It was so cute, warm and inviting. Our breakfast overlooking the canal was perfect. The location is also perfect and right in the center of the city. Highly recommend!

The rooms at the Duc de Bougogne are extremely comfortable. The view from the windows is breathtaking! We enjoyed watching the swans swim down the canal during the delicious and well-appointed breakfast.

The hotel is smack bang in the centre of the old town directly next to the most photographed corner in Brugge - Rosary Quay. Decorated so beautifully, this hotel was immaculately clean, modern rooms holding the old style character to fit the setting of Bruge. The beds comfortable and directly on the canal so you can sit by your bed and watch the boats and swans travelling by. Breakfast was great with fresh bread and croissants - Simple yet Deliscious and was included in the room price. I couldn’t fault the hotel, we thought even for the location the price was very reasonable but even more so with the friendly staff and comfort of the simple yet elegant rooms. If you enjoyed the movie ‘In Bruge’ the hotel can be seen at multiple points in the movie, and reinforces the perfect location. Couldn’t recommend it higher and wouldn’t think twice before booking here next time I stay in Bruge
