Hotel Rocamarina

We had a great time staying at this hotel. Late check-in was available so gave us flexibility when our flight was delayed and had to arrive in the middle to the night. The breakfast was great with plenty of options. Thanks for the birthday gift also - that was very sweet of you :)

We have stayed at the Rocamarina many times and it holds a special place in our hearts. Starting with the positives… all staff are amazing. They are friendly, attentive and helpful at all times of the day and night and are quite the best of any hotel we have stayed in. The rooms are cleaned daily, as is every inch of the hotel. The addition of kettles in all the rooms is fabulous though I would recommend taking or buying your own teabags and coffee. The new Egos Beach Club that has replaced the Tenis Bar is stunning and I suspect quickly becoming the most photographed spot in the area. We enjoyed a drink there most evenings. The staff are excellent and the service is speedy. Sadly the menu at the restaurant was not to my husband’s taste and didn’t cater for a vegan so we never ate there. The food at the hotel was fine for my husband as he will eat meat whilst away from home. I wasn’t so lucky. Previously as a vegetarian I have commented on the practice of putting bacon in the vegetables and this is sadly still happening. Due to developing a dairy allergy in the last couple of years I’ve become vegan and this is not catered for at all in the hot food buffet. I didn’t go hungry but I was very bored of salad!! Fortunately I’m not a desert eater because these were very much not vegan friendly. Our biggest issue was with the inadequate number of parasols. The 9am sunbed stampede could have been avoided if there were enough brollies. I found queueing for sun beds degrading but it was necessary to secure beds with a parasol. There really needs to be one for every two beds. My husband and I do miss the daytime entertainment at the hotel now that it isn’t a TUI hotel, which I do realise is a personal issue as it wasn’t to everyone’s taste. It just feels a little flat now. We are as always very fond of the Rocamarina and will definitely return in the future but I think that for now we will be looking at alternative accommodation.

The superior sea view room was worth paying the little extra for. The welcome bottle of wine and cookies much appreciated. The bed could have been more comfortable the mattress being quite hard. Breakfast buffet was varied and the food good.

My wife and myself stayed at the Rocamarina from 6/9/24 until 20/9/24 in room 255. This was our second stay with the hotel and both of us really enjoyed our holiday at the Rocamarina. We both love to travel to different places in Spain and are fortunate enough to be able to do so around 5 times a year. We only ever stay at adults only hotels and this hotel provides a very relaxing adults only environment. Reception was fast, efficient and polite. Only used on two occasions. Check in and check out. Both times staff were friendly and polite giving required information. Our room was on the second floor and had a lovely sea view. The room was equipped well with fridge, kettle and tea and coffee making facilities. On arrival had complimentary wine and water which was nice. TV with some English channels if required. Bathroom had good fittings but shower over bath may be a problem for some guests (ok for us). Shower gel and soap provided. Cleaning was to a very high standard and done every day. Special mention must go the the cleaner for room 255 she was so friendly (apologies for not getting her name). Cleaner always said hello and good morning and asked how we were. In general the hotel was kept very clean. Restaurant was good and a nice place to visit. Thought food was good with a wide choice (for me not amazing!!). Food is always a personal choice and for my wife and myself the soup at dinner let it down a bit giving the impression it came from a packet mix most days. Overall the quality of the food was high and no real complaints. Don't normally mention individual staff names but will make an exception in this review. Renata, Casi and Rani (apologies if any spelling incorrect) all have exceptional customer service skills making visits to the restaurant friendly and enjoyable adding greatly to a positive holiday experience. Renata organises the restaurant so well and Casi always made sure we were served quickly with a smile. Overall the staff at the hotel are all very good. Did not come across a staff member who was unfriendly or did not want to help. It must be said that the staff are the reason I am giving the hotel 5 stars and not 4. The public areas of the hotel are perhaps dated but in general we liked the decor and enjoyed sitting relaxing having a glass of wine in the evening. Some of the sofas are old and need replaced, especially in conservatory area where springs in some sofas have obviously broken. Overall a nice relaxing environment though. Bar area was good with inside and outside seating. Both of us enjoyed relaxing in bar with a drink before dinner. Staff were efficient and friendly. I thought prices for drink were slightly on high side for this hotel. Especially beer and definately the wine. Cheapest bottle of wine 22 euros. Just our opinion but hotel could probably make more money by rethinking pricing a bit especially on beer and wine. During the day bar sold food and this was good and fa

Arrived to a friendly reception team. Had a seaview room on 2nd Floor. Very efficient lift. The room was spotless and very nice with excellent air con. Balcony was adequate but the front wall obscured view whilst sat on comfy chairs. Fine if you were standing! I loved the cool pool and easy steps in but struggled with no ramp from terrace to pool area, also no ramp to pool toilets and garden area. The sunbeds were very close together and most were in shade late morning onwards. However we always managed to get one either by pool or in garden. We went to beach one day but it wasn’t as easy as described in previous literature. I use a Rollator and had to leave via Reception, walk down road, then along another road where we tried the short cut through Egos Beach Club. A member of staff came up to us, think he was going to turn us away. I explained Hotel said we could cut through. He then showed us pathway through. Gate at bottom was locked and had to be opened by him. Once out Beach was just across road. However, coming back Solid Gate locked so we had to walk via local roads, some uphill. Also to reach local Square with Restaurants, shops and facilities we had to walk long way round. There was a gate at top of garden, again locked which had it been open we could have just crossed the road. They said they were locked for security. Other hotels we’ve stayed in we could use our Room Key to gain access. The Restaurant was ok but quite often the queues for having food cooked to order made it difficult to get to the self serve vegetables etc. There was a good variety of food but it was quite repetitive and often not as hot as I’d have liked. All the staff in the Hotel were lovely and the Rooms and public areas were spotless. I found my bed too hard so was supplied with a mattress topper which helped a bit. The Pillows were very good, that made a nice change. Thank you for complimentary bottle of wine and water on our first night.

One of the best places I have stayed in Spain Very welcoming environment Staff were excellent and all wearing uniforms Excellent restaurant and quality and choice brilliant Location was great too easy walk to beach and to the high street All the usual shops you would expect The marina is also worth a look with some really expensive looking crafts

My friend and I stayed bed and breakfast, the breakfast choice was absolutely fantastic, so much to choose from. The room was spotless, no complaints. Staff lovely. Just a nice peaceful hotel, location perfect a 5 minute walk to shops, bars and restaurants one way, then the other way about 15 minutes to the marina where again shops, bars and restaurants. Definitely recommend and I will be coming back next year.

Lovely hotel, very traditionally furnished. Restaurant superb and great service. Spotlessly clean and excellent choice of food at breakfast. Very relaxing and room was spacious . Lovely welcome surprise of plate of coconut macaroons and bottle of Rosé wine in the fridge. Just the relaxing break we needed after a hectic cruise.

My wife and I had a great weeks stay here. Fantastic sea view from our room. What really struck me was how civilised the hotel and resort were. No yobbos and loud music. Great set of guests. We had numerous chats with folks from all over, Northern Ireland, Germany and Eastern Europe - all lovely. The beach is great, also the beach bar - staff even remember what you want. Food at the hotel is great - I had apple crumble and custard every night - loved it.
