The Wincheap B&B

This is a small B&B which is warm and welcoming. The room was so comfortable and bright. The breakfast is cooked fresh and is very tasty. It set us up for the day ahead. It is so handy for exploring this wonderful city and Terry was on hand to offer good advice about the area. Overall, a lovely visit and one that we would like to repeat. Highly recommend this lovely B&B.

We really enjoyed our stay. Very friendly management. They accepted our late booking and we loved Canterbury. The room was very clean and comfy and breakfast was the icing on the cake.

Great stay at the Wincheap! Lovely room, spotlessly clean. Great communication beforehand and a very warm welcome when we arrived. It’s around a 10-15 minute walk to the city centre to all main attractions, restaurants, cafes etc. there is parking at the back of the hotel. We slept very well and had a delicious breakfast the next morning. Thank you, we will book again! 😀

The decor in the bedroom is smart, comfortable and stylish. Although ours was a small room, it was perfect and well-equipped for a short stay (good shower, comfy bed and Tunnocks teacakes!!) Terry and Chris are excellent hosts - welcoming and friendly. Nice to have tasty different breakfast options (the eggs Benedict and the French toast both recommended) as well as the classic full English. We wondered about the location when we booked - and OK, a small industrial/business estate is not the loveliest of views - but with a 15-min walk into the centre and private parking it was absolutely fine for us.

We have just returned from a fantastic week away in Canterbury, enhanced greatly by our extremely comfortable stay at The Wincheap B & B! Terry and Chris were the perfect hosts and went out of their way to ensure that everything….facilities, food, our very attractive room and bathroom were all top-notch. Nothing was too much trouble and we were even treated to some unexpected Prosecco and chocolates to celebrate our joint birthdays and anniversary on arrival. The city centre is within an easy 15-20 minute walk, helped considerably by a nearby underpass. There are several really good eating places, for example, The Three Tuns that we frequented quite a lot- and The Corner House (that needs to be pre-booked), where we had a more special meal on our first evening. We particularly enjoyed visiting the cathedral, which is notwithstanding rather expensive at £16 pp for general entry, the Franciscan Gardens, The Beaney House of Art & Knowledge (free)- and a leisurely boat trip on the River Stour, entertained royally by our very humorous punter, Mark! In all, it was a very positive trip and we would return to The Wincheap another time without hesitation. Thank you!

We were made to feel very welcome on arrival and given lots of information about Canterbury. We had the suite which was very clean and comfortable. The breakfasts on both days was very enjoyable with plenty of choice for continental and cooked. Will definitely book again.

Lovely Victorian town house, exceptional well located for the Cathedral and town centre. And has parking. Very clean and tidy and has all the facilities you expect. Terry and Chris who run it are great hosts, very welcoming & knowledgeable

As always just a pleasure to stay there. I challenge anyone to tell me somewhere better in Kent.

An excellent stay, very helpful proprietors, super clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. No hesitation in recommending the Wincheap!
