Harbour Bridge Luxury Apartments

Not at all an experience of luxury in Cape Town. Faulty room card made checking in difficult. Entered a room that was already booked and being used by another guest. New room was not in a working condition with regards to the shower(not able to turn causing water to flood bathroom) and lighting functions(missing plugs). Overpriced and overall very dissapointing.

This worked for us for 2 nights. Here’s the positives: friendly and helpful staff, clean apar**ent, no load shedding (power cuts) when we were there, reasonable cost, comfy bed, safe, air con and hot water. We could walk to the water front shops and restaurants in under 30 mins along the canal path in day light and took a taxi back at night (not safe). Less good things: it’s very noisy outside (apar**ents sandwiched between a container port and highway), the fixtures and fittings are dated, fridge incredible noisy so needed to turn it off, roof top pool and the water looked murky and no shade up there, All in all an average stay.

I have been using this hotel regularly over the last 10 years and I am very disappointed by the decline in service post-COVID. It now seems that accountants are running the ship as opposed to hospitality specialists. Maintenance in the hotel was not up to scratch, air-conditioners not working and couldn't be fixed, room service is no longer an option and when you order a cooldrink to be sent up to your room you are expected to pay COD as if you were going to run off without paying the exorbitant price for a warm drink at the end of your stay. Cuppachino was always the order of the day to start the morning but you are now expected to pay extra for that which is mind-boggling, to the best of my knowledge the ingredients differ no more than a regular cup of filter coffee. Very sad state of affairs and would probably look elsewhere for accommodation in future.

Absolute horror!!! the location, the beds, cleanliness, noise - everything consistently bad! Cockroaches, noise all night from the container port right by the window. In the morning at 6:30 the steam locomotive: very bad. the landlord does not react and does not care. The photos are not real, or old!!! and everything is very worn and not well maintained. There were cigarette butts in the flower pots on the balcony. Burn holes in the seat. Such an accommodation should not be rented out. Photos and videos have been submitted to *********** as evidence.
