My stay at the manor was so wonderful and cozy comfortable. I felt like I was walking into a movie set. My room was very comfortable but I felt at home in all the little sitting areas within. Came in one chilly night to a nice fire in the sitting room and had a glass of sherry, perfect ending of a perfect night in Kalk Bay. I will be back!

We spent one night here. It certainly encapsulates old-world charm. I can’t remember how long ago we experienced a “turndown” service! The amenities were lovely, with a very spacious bathroom and bedroom, including a reading nook. In warm weather the pool area must be so relaxing. When we went into Kalk Bay for dinner we opted to drive as it’s about a kilometer to walk, which isn’t far or unsafe, just a preference really. We enjoyed the breakfast and would recommend a stay here. Thank you to the team for their hospitality.

We have just arrived back into the UK after an amazing holiday in South Africa We were lucky enough to experience both the St James Manor House and Homestead Villa the following week for our family Birthday Party Both are owned by the Rovos Rail Group Clive, Dene and all the staff looking after both properties, went out of their way to give us a wonderful time in both places The guest house is lovely, small but so personal. The breakfast was wonderful and they even had an honesty bar where you can socialise and chat to other guests The Villa was absolutely fabulous although I feel the website photos don't do it the justice it deserves. Each of the six bedrooms are massive suites with a huge living space, spectacular beds and bathrooms The living spaces are on the ground floor looking out to sea and the upper level also with a balcony and a sea view We actually spotted a couple of dolphins whilst sitting on the spacious terrace We used the pool and rear outside spaces when it was good weather Everyone had special memories to take home We would highly recommend the Villa for a larger group We had the best time in both accommodations Thank you all xx

St James Manor is a lovely location. As with any place in South Africa, please be vigilant. Unfortunately a significant amount of cash was stolen from our room during our stay. The hotel was assiduous in following up and there is no evidence that hotel staff were involved. Please do follow up immediately on site if you find your room unlocked.

We had a very nice and comfortable week at St James. Well located in Kalk Bay with walking distance to restaurants and shops. The room has a fantastic view over the bay and bathing were to be found in the vicinty. Friendly staff made all they could to make the stay for us.

You will not regret staying at St James Manor. From the moment we arrived we felt at home and welcome. The a**osphere is tranquil and relaxing and the staff are very friendly, happy in their jobs and nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast was excellent too. St James is also an ideal base for exploring the Cape Peninsula

This was our second stay at St James Manor - absolutely loved it! It’s intimate, a**ospheric, well-run, and the location in St James/Kalk Bay is excellent. Highly recommended!

A beautiful place to stay. The staff is excellent. Clive going out of his way to help when I had trouble walking, dropping us at a restaurant and picking us up later, all out of the kindness of his heart. Kalk Bay is a safe place and lovely. Breakfast at StJames Manor was excellent and more than enough food. Eating out was excellent. Beds are comfortable.

Beautiful and well-maintained property with sea view, very close to the restaurants and shops in Kalk Bay. Very large and comfortable bedrooms. Delicious breakfast and super friendly staff. Highly recommended.
