Dona Sa Maria Eco Hotel

Except hosts as usual and another fantastic stay keep on doing what your doing. Food and accommodation excellent and the staff are so attentive it helps make a pleasure to stay with you. Nothing is ever an issue from booking taxis making suggestions regarding things to do and see. We will most definitely be back to stay again with you. A big shout out to Serafino and of course the delightful Purie, sharpen your fishing skills for our return

Our first experience on visiting India, and what a fabulous experience it was. A family run hotel by Serafino and his wife Puree assisted by a very friendly team. Our room was clean and adequately equipped including tea:coffee making facilities and a fridge. Room was serviced every day. Superb food at lunch and evening. Always served with a smile. The atmosphere around the restaurant/pool area it great. Everyone interacts with each other which is the benefit of a small family run hotel. On a Friday night live music which everyone enjoyed and even had the staff up dancing.

A very honest ( in my opinion ) warts and all review . Firstly on arrival we were given our room key and i remembered why we said ***y years ago we would never book a 2 star hotel in Goa again first impression very basic hardly any storage space and the balcony room 204 was right next to 202 with no privacy but we asked the owner if we could change rooms she was lovely and said in the morning as soon as possible we could change so we moved to 201 with a respectful gap to the next room .Wifi was awful.Now for the pluses and there were ***y there was free aircon and fan room safe a well stocked in expensive mini bar / fridge , tea and coffee facilities replenished daily .The pool was nice with decent sunbeds and a restaurant .Another big plus for this hotel was the breakfast not just the usual tea/coffee / juice toast and jam but also eggs of various forms the poached were particularly good and also omelettes included .Lastly and by no means least the setting fields countryside all around just wonderful . Gracious hosts great 2boys at breakfast big smiles thank you for a lovely memorable holiday .

Another wonderful stay at the Dona Sa Maria, first post pandemic trip, as always a warm welcome from Serafino and Puri, excellent food, rooms lovely and clean, great service from all the staff. The hotel is set in beautiful gardens and Tamborim offers the wonderfully quiet, serene village we love. Booked already for 2025 and this time for an extra week.

We had an excellent stay here . Very relaxing with a lovely pool and restaurant and a peaceful beach around 20 mins walk away. Granted the rooms are quite basic but you have everything you need. The staff go out of their way to make your stay comfortable . I want to thank Serafino and Puri the owners, Sam the ***ager ( for having the cooks prepare some great Goan meals for us ) and the efficient Vanessa in reception and of course the wonderful restaurant staff Gulab and Dipak and the team and not forgetting the cleaning team. We had such a memorable time- the staff even arranged a birthday cake with candles for me ! X We will definitely be returning as do other folks year on year .

Where to start about this wonderful place- as you can see from all the other reviews this is an absolute gem of a hotel - our best bits 1. the owners Serafino and Puri -the welcome and constant care you receive is second to non - there is nothing that is too much trouble- they help arrange trips - cabs - whatever you need 2.the staff - unbelievably hard working kind and attentive they are all wonderful but found Gulab to be really kind - they work incredibly hard but always smiling and wanting to help 3.The food - one word wow - everything is absolutely amazing we are there so ***y times 4.the surroundings - beautiful location very unspoilt around 20 mins to a gloriously quiet beach with a couple of beach shacks and sunbeds for around a pound a day - nearest shop about 10 min walk - Cavelossim town 250 rupees taxi arranged by hotel The walk to the beach is wonderful lots of friendly locals wishing you good morning lots of wildlife including peacocks and a few restaurants and bars a couple of minutes a way 5. The hotel is truly eco friendly Serafino is doing an amazing job ask him for the tour ☺️he is rightly proud of his achievements 6. The rooms have super clean linen everyday - (ask for a top sheet) and towels for pool - don’t forget to hang your key up if you want them cleaned daily - there is a fridge with water - (water replenished daily)beers etc - a kettle and a small amount of coffee tea etc - no hairdryer so take one if it’s a must for you - bookshelf on second floor 7. Friday night music night- live singer who is amazing- the whole experience one to remember met some wonderful people and we are hoping to become one of the hundreds who return annually for the next 20 years 😎

6 of us had 26 nights staying with Serafino and Purie and there wonderful staff. Two of us were on our third visit here the other 4 was there first time in Goa. We all have nothing but praise for the way we were looked after. In fact you were made to feel like part of a large family. What's always nice here at Dona sa maria is with a large number of people returning its always nice to meet up with old friends. Dona sa maria is the place to be.

Great trip to Dona Sa Marie. Glad to say the hotel had not changed a bit. It was as friendly and exclusive as always. The staff made us all very welcome and our rooms were lovely. Our balcony looked unto a huge field with lots of wildlife and birds we enjoyed watching. Hope to return .

This was our first time in the south of Goa having previously only visited the north. The Dona Sa Marie is a small charming hotel set in the peaceful countryside outside of Cavelossim. If you’re expecting to walk out of the hotel into the hustle and bustle of a town, you won’t but a £4 taxi ride will get you into Cavelossim. The peace and quiet in the hotel is bliss and the sun beds super comfortable, no music, the local wildlife is amazing to watch. The rooms are basic but have everything you need (tip, take some extra hangers) brilliant air con. 2 bottles of free water daily, kettle and huge fridge, good beds. What makes this hotel extra special is the owners Serafino and Puri (sorry for the spelling) ***** with their staff they are all amazing and so helpful. Serafino went to such lengths to help us with a particular personal problem, this was really above and beyond. What an amazing guy. Just remember if you are visiting India for the first time then have realistic expectations (it’s not the UK). The staff are fabulous from housekeeping to bar to catering and reception. We were very sorry to leave. This is a special friendly hotel the key being its size, all the guests chat to each other, it’s the kind of hotel where you could visit alone and feel comfortable. There were ***y returners resident at the time always helpful with handy tips and advice. We had a fantastic holiday.
