This was our third visit in 2 years, so we obviously like the place.! Cassel is livelier towards the end of the week so plan accordingly. As for the hotel - still fantastic. We were still on the ground floor, but this time had the Africa room decorated wirh larger than life lions and elephant paintings. The bedroom as usual was spacious with an equally large bed. Our hostess was charming as was her English. Sadly no full restaurant service, but the view looking down to the plain from the restaurant window was wonderful. And at dusk with a glass of Sancerre, who could want more. We hope to return next spring for another enjoyable visit. Bye for now.!

We stayed for two nights and had the most wonderful time. The property is beautiful and our hosts were so welcoming and helpful. I accidentally left my watch and they found it and are posting it back to England. A great stay and so grateful to you for the help with the watch. Thank you so much!

We stayed in this hotel as the 1st night of a classic car tour. The hotel is located near the centre of a very picturesque village, Cassel, which is around an hour from the Channel Tunnel. The hotel has clearly seen better days, probably badly affected by Covid. We were in a room on the ground floor which was quirky as the bathroom was down around 20 steps from the main bedroom all ensuite but not the safest set of stairs as they are quite heavily angled. We also discovered that there was only a jacuzzi bath and no shower. It seems that the rest of the group all had shower and bath in their rooms. However, we were given a bottle of Prosecco to make up for the unusual room. The hotel no longer has a full service restaurant so service is being kept to the minimum. Looking at the property it looks as though it would have been quite grand at one point with lawns and a restaurant. The car parking behind the hotel is not easily accessible as the entrance is a little rough. The walk from the car park to the hotel is also a bit of a route march. Fine for one night but I wouldn't recommend this hotel for a long stay.

Amazing building and history - even in the room there was lots of stuff historical stuff about Chatellerie De Schoebeque. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was plentiful and fresh. Had to walk into the town for dinner, told there were lots of restaurants open but there was one! Central heating not on in September which I understand in a large old building, but electric heaters in bathroom did not work meaning it was cold.

Historic residence located in center of Cassel. Grand entrance with bar and breakfast room, very picturesque stairway leading to upper floors. Fantastic view. Hotel Manager went out of his way to assist us with dinner reservations and storing bikes. Truly a gem! Fantastic stay.

Located in a historic building, common parts are beautifully kept in the historic style. Rooms have their own touch. We stayed in the African room which is nicely decorated. Room was spacious. Breakfast is ok. A wonderful view from the breakfast room. They have some outside seating, but limited and the cushions stays outside in the rain, which kept them wet even when the sun was shining. Room felt a little warm, even if outside was not really summer temperatures. But all in all, a very good place to discover the very nice area around Cassel.

For £200 a night we expected everything to work. For example, there was a beautiful marble setting but the heating was not on and there was no clear way of controlling the temperature in the room which was in a cold downstairs location. On a previous visit in a cheaper room we had an iron provided , a functioning coffee machine and milk and a larger table. This was a warm cosy room.The coffee machine this time did not work. Unfortunately everything in town on Mondays is closed and there is no restaurant in the hotel even though a restaurant is indicated in the hotel. To be kind bread and milk were provided on request. The toilet was electronically driven but needed three flushes sometimes to clear properly to avoid a smell of urine when it refilled. There is no hand basin in the toilet. This is only in the shower up some steps. There are no handles on the bathroom door so it can't be fully closed or locked. We would heartily recommend the cheaper room at £116 per night with everything functioning but the luxury room for £200 a night is for us was not good value for money. Staff were polite and friendly. I would recommend you improve your French if you intend to visit so you can communicate your requests better.

Lovely building but in mid July and a Monday evening was like checking into a morque, as seemingly only one other reservation. As a consequence of so little custom the Restaurant had been closed without any pre-warning and Cassel seemed to be closed for business. Such a shame as we finished up sitting alone in the lounge with some bread and cheese and a small bottle of wine and didn't see a single person the entire evning
