My family of four (two children aged 12 and 9) have just returned form a week holiday at Gasparina village at lake Garda. Our fist impression of the village was quite positive. There is a large pool and the kids had a fantastic time using the slides and spending time swimming. The apartment was decent, roomy enough for four people. The patio was ok, with two lounge beds and a dining table. However, for a four star rating and the price I was expecting more. The apartment doesn’t have a dishwasher, coffeemaker nor a toaster. The kitchen ventilation was broken. As far as the half board is concerned, the breakfast was ok, nothing spacial. The dinner, however, was bad. Every evening there was a selection of four to five dishes and I am sorry to say, it was bad and repetitive. The area around the village is not the nicest, the beach is dirty and sometimes also smelly. There are nicer places around lake Garda than this. We have seen them during our previous stays in this area. The proximity of the small towns is a plus. They are beautiful. Gardaland is 20 min away on foot. However, what I consider the biggest flaw was the behavior of the stuff on the day when a terrible hailstorm destroyed all our cars in the parking lot. Not a single person came to us and asked us if we needed any help. On the contrary, after breakfast they closed the kitchen and a small shop so there was nowhere the people at the village could eat. So without the cars we we left on our own. When we went to the reception to ask where we could order some food the girl who could barely speak English suggested Mcdonalds, which was 4 km away. Really disappointing. I would really suggest hiring people who can speak English since communication with the staff was terrible. All in all I must say we were not satisfied with this stay. We have visited Garda lake many times before and this was by far the worst stay. This is by no means a four star resort.
