I've stayed in a lot of Premier Inns, and this was below standard. Lots of things wrong for our 3 night stay: 1) Woman who checked us in was a misery. Didn’t tell us where the rooms were, so had to stop and ask another member of staff where to go. 2) Bathroom floor had some suspicious coloured dirt on it, so not cleaned properly. 3) Air conditioning turned itself off at night, so had to keep touching the screen to switch it on again. 4) TV remote didn’t work, menu buttons on side of TV didn’t work so no TV for three nights. 5) Had breakfast first day and although staff were friendly and polite, the buffet eggs were inedible. We got there at 9 and they’d clearly been there since 6.30am they were solid and hard and the yolks were going grey. I asked for them to be replaced, but they didn’t. Scrambled eggs were the consistency of half-solid cement. Asked for gluten free bread - they toasted it without me asking for it to be toasted and one piece was so well toasted it was inedible. This is NOT good enough. For the other days we went over the road to the Wetherspoons and it was great over there. 6) The second day we tried to get access to our rooms and the key cards didn’t work so had to go down to reception to get them set again. We shouldn’t have had to do this. We’d booked and paid for three nights. 7) Bottle opener in one room was missing. Yes, I know this is not a 5 star hotel, but I’ve never had so many issues with a Premier Inn. It was very disappointing.
