Catthorpe Manor Estate

My partner booked a surprise weekend away here for me & it was all stunning. The grand staircase to come down to reception is amazing. So are the grounds & the rooms . We had a bottle of chilled Proscecco waiting for us in our room on arrival, we had a superb view of the beautiful gardens from our room it was all amazing, Dinner & Breakfast are outstanding here.

Closed down. Turned up after checking in 2 days before. Sign on the door , hopefully get money back from travelzoo . Booked another date also. Mad rush at 8pm after driving 3 hours to find alternative accommodation

We had our wedding at Catthorpe Manor in September 2022. From our initial viewing to leaving the next day, the service and attentiveness from the staff was extraordinary. They catered to our every request, whether changing courses on the menu and providing a custom drinks package to allowing our suppliers early entry to save rushing on the day. The hotel and grounds are just stunning, with lots of little mooks and trails and explore. These are also great for photo opportunities. The staff were amazing on the morning, providing a very good continental breakfast to the room in the morning, with water and snack brought up for bridesmaids, hair and make-up artist. Room was very big, spotless and so pretty. The staff were attentive, and stayed close to hand if we needed anything. There was a young lady who set the tables for the evening reception, and on the morning, she went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. The day ran so smoothly which is down to the staff and master of ceremonies, managing to get the guests where the needed to be at the right time. The food was amazing, high-quality ingredients and beautifully presented. The breakfast the next day was excellent, with everything you could want and more. All juices and hot drinks were available, pastries, fruit, cereal, and a hot buffet with everything you need for a full English. I honestly can't rate the value and staff highly enough. An amazing venue which made my day magical.

Lovely building and setting despite noisy traffic from motorways 24 hours a day. The positives: good breakfast, passable evening meal with varied choices, staff very helpful and pleasant. Plenty parking and outdoor seating area lovely. The negatives: no lift we had platinum suite on 1st floor for £20 extra not worth it as large, bad stain on carpet and the second small adjoining “lounge” was very long and narrow with small sofa and tv nothing else, very sp**** and no point to it. However good size of bedroom and bathroom. Windows throughout hotel very dirty, needed good clean which spoilt the ambience as the decor generally throughout was very good.

Beautiful hotel. Fabulous views. Great staff. Tasty food. We were in room 3 and it was lovely and spacious with a large bathroom. Staff are so welcoming and helpful. We had a lovely evening meal with the travel zoo voucher and it was very tasty. Breakfast was ordered and therefore lovely and hot and beautifully presented. Yoghurt and fresh juice was also welcome. We would certainly return.

Cattthorpe Manor Hotel was delightful in every way: the setting was very attractive, the staff were all extremely pleasant and helpful, our room was spacious and very clean and well appointed with comfortable bed and a lovely outlook (room 1). We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast -plenty of choice- and the evening meals were superb, beautifully cooked and presented. We would be happy to return any time. As a bargain break (Travelzoo), this has been arguably our best.

This manor is charming and the service from all the people working there is excellent. I have stayed on several occasions for work. The food is of great quality and delicious. Rooms are quirky, and clean, warm, perfect stay every time.

Bar or lack of it let the hotel down . Apparently had a few weddings . Nothing on their pumps at all . The bottles were warm and brought up in a box as we were there … all very much room temperature and looked like they’d been bought locally at a supermarket so had to pay through the nose for them ! Apology was made but in hindsight I would say that’s simply bad management . The rooms were upgraded by us and very acceptable . The best bit was the evening meal set menu and breakfast . The chef did a fantastic job the food was amazing fresh hot and well presented . Please pass this on to him .

Beautiful building with well appointed and spacious rooms. Lovely views from top floor where we stayed and the room was comfortable. The bathroom was very big but the shower and the toilet were a bit grubby - I know keeping the grouting clean is tricky but I would expect better in a hotel like this. Also, when we did a room check to make sure we didn’t leave anything behind there was a lot of rubbish under the bed - felt this was poor. Staff were lovely and friendly - especially at breakfast. However, the breakfast itself was poor - the bacon was pale and hard, the sausage was a little pink, the black pudding was undercooked and the toast was very lightly toasted and cold. I didn’t bring up these issues as I was unwell and just wanted to leave but I can see reading previous reviews that I am not the only one to be disappointed by the breakfast. Shame as such a beautiful old building.
