The cons: The service here has changed over time. The staff, while pleasant, was less professional; the breakfast offerings had been scaled back substantially and were not as represented on the hotel signage; and housekeeping has been reduced to every other day. The pros: The rooms are clean, attractive and nicely furnished with full-size refrigerators, microwaves, coffeemakers and dishwashers. Beds are comfortable with good quality linens; the rooms are very quiet and generally pleasant. The area has lots of dining options and stores galore to pick up anything you might need; it is convenient to everything with easy access to the highway.

I really want to rate this hotel a 5, but will explain the 4 rating below. The room and public areas were so very clean. You could tell the staff took a lot of pride in the hotel. Our bed was comfortable (if a bit too close to the air conditionere -- you have to turn sideways to get past it), and the room was well appointed. We will choose this hotel again. We reported a broken ice machine on our floor and it was fixed within hours. We really want to compliment the desk clerk for taking care of that quickly. As for the 4 stars, the refrigerator door opened backwards. It just made it inconvenient to load and unload. And whoever installed the closet rods confused curtain rods for closet rods. So the rod was wobbly and sagged when we hung our clothes on it. These are minor things that the installation crew should have taken care of. But otherwise, five stars.

The good: the hotel is absolutely beautiful. It’s clean, well stocked, and extremely comfortable. The decor is new. There’s plenty of areas to charge electronics. The provided hygiene items were a great touch and of high quality. The room was comfortable and functional. We loved the curtain divider. The breakfast was incredible. We didn’t catch the name of the woman working the breakfast area. She was extremely accommodating and greeted each and every person who entered, as if they were a special guest in her home. She offered to bring out more items and showed guests how to make the most of the offerings - yogurt parfaits and chocolate chip waffles. This woman deserves a raise and some recognition. The bad: The room would not go lower than 68 degrees. We had four people in our room and it was warm! Also, the room is deafeningly quiet. While that sounds like a good thing, it made every single movement sound amplified. Even normal movements in the bed were loud. It took all four of us two hours to fall asleep and then we all woke up throughout the night, due hearing each other move. The bathroom door was a sliding door. It offered nothing more than just looks. It wasn’t practical at all. There was a large gap at the bottom and on one side of the door. This caused privacy concerns as every bathroom noise could be heard throughout the entire room. We would definitely stay here again, but we’d bring our own fan, a white noise machine, and possibly stuff towels under the bathroom door.

Free EV charger at 40 amps around the back. J1772 plug, you need the charge point app. It worked perfectly! Front Desk staff is polite and friendly, hotel is new and gorgeous. Breakfast is good. Suites are well stocked with silverware and glassware. This is where will stay now in Cedar Rapids. Thanks
