After checking in, we were handed a key and given no help to carry our luggage upstairs. The room lock later proved troublesome and we had to ask for assistance from the receptionist. This could have been resolved if we had been taken to the room initially. We had the Superior Double Room with Balcony (Prestige) and enjoyed having the outdoor aspect. The room was beautifully decorated but appeared to have a slight unpleasant odour. A walk around the garden was interesting. A row of hot tubs, covered and unusable, as well as scattered garden furniture. An outdoor building being used for storage. We asked for a dinner reservation to be made with a Restaurant and the receptionist did not let us know if was actually made until we made a point of going down stairs to ask. It is worth noting that there is no Restaurant at this Hotel so be prepared to look elsewhere for good food. Breakfast was not a good experience. The layout of the buffet was not helpful. Sliding cabinet doors jammed and no thought as to replenishing empty dishes. Decor was a array of 'collections' including modern hats displayed on a wall. This jarred with other real collectors items. We left this Hotel feeling that it was such a missed opportunity. No Restaurant and an inexperienced Receptionist at Check in (not check out) meant we felt dissappointed.
