The free breakfast is not a full buffet but a choice of egg and then usually fried potato and beefburger patty or slices of sausage. the rest was tiny yoghurt and bread for toast, or make your own waffles. there is tea coffee and hot chocolate. There was cereal and porridge but sometimes it is made so thin that its not worth eating. There is no tea in the room, just coffee. The machine had a disposable tray but they ran out so I used the same one for 9 days for tea and coffee (i got teabags from the breakfast room). Housekeeping never supplied what you asked for first time, or even second. If you want something and ask at 2pm, you will get it if you chase a couple of times afterwards by 9-10pm. There was also alot of messing about with respect to check out time. I am a member of the loyalty programme which is meant to give you an automatic late checkout. The manager gave it to me but then when I went back to ask about extending it further for a fee, it was clear the other guy behind the counter was on a power trip and the day before started saying I shouldnt have got it and as it was the manager, he wouldnt withdraw it but he could and I should only get an hour and be charged $25/hr after that etc. He was just a mean spiteful man who saw an opportunity to cause worry and distress and he did it. I had luggage to store and it was a late flight so I had to know whether to pack to store it to check out at midday, or 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 (they were messing me about with all times) but this is why I gave a 1 star for service. It is not at all professional but childish and spiteful. I had arranged the extended checkout days before and the day before they were messing me about when I had to pack and had a schedule of things to do? The worst service in any hotel I have ever been in. Hilton is no longer a 5 star experience it seems. 1 star for service.

Be careful, there is a hidden charge ”A $25 daily urban experience fee will be charged to each room” at this hotel Fairmont Chicago - Millennium Park. The breakfast charge is very tricky if you have prepaid. 1st you have to argue that you have prepaid for the breakfast for each person in the room. 2nd you need to ask and confirm with the front desk how much the credit is for the breakfast you have paid (my case $38 for each person daily, covers taxes and tips). It is not buffet breakfast, you need to pay extra when you check out if you have ordered more than your credit for the breakfast. When I asked that if I missed one breakfast, can I use the extra credit for the next day. The answers were different from different staff members. A very expensive hotel focusing on big conferences, there are no microwave oven, empty refrigerator (you can request) in the room and swimming pool. Do not lift up the drinks and snacks in the box on the table (there are sensors underneath) unless you don't mind to be charged. The existing refrigerator is full of drinks. I was afraid to touch it, even the concierge didn't know how to open the refrigerator lock. But the coffee and tea are free. There is a person (not housekeeper) comes to the room to check and refill all the drinks and snacks including the free ones. We booked our room many weeks earlier, after we checked in I realized that the room prices dropped comparing our original prices, maybe not enough conference people attending. The hotel is clean with daily house keeping which is perfect. The room was facing the main road so even I’m not sensitive to sound still can hear it quite clearly. The hair dryer was missing and the house keeper aware of it when (s)he cleaned the room before we check-in. Kind of strange! 24 hours free shuttle bus to the airport is great. A 10-minute walk from the Blue Line Cumberland Station is quite convenient. It would be very helpful if the hotel could provide walking directions from the station to the hotel. We were lucky to meet two locals early in the morning who guided us safely to the metro station. However, we saw three tourists struggling to cross the busy road and jaywalking to reach the hotel. It’s quite dangerous without any clear signs or directions for guests walking from the metro station. There is no kettle in the room or hot flask on each floor so it’s troublesome to get hot water from the restaurant on ground floor.

We booked a room that unfortunately was for the wrong dates through a third party. We were told by the third party that they would refund us but that the hotel had to release our reservation. We called them immediately after realizing the dates were wrong which was within an hour. The reservation was for two days from then. The hotel said they would not cancel it. They charged us almost $600 for a room we did not stay in and called in advance to explain our situation. They also did not allow for us to change the days to the days we were actually looking for. While the hotel is lovely and the staff was pleasant even delivering the bad news I won’t be looking to book with them again.

Not bad at all, service soso, the location is not bad, nice near Chinatown, and Star Bucks Coffee next door. We checked out too late, our own mistake, but no mercy, they were not fully booked, yet they charged the full rate. The employee tried his best but the female owner was stiff. For the rest a nice stay.

Location is good especially 5mins walk to the Grand subway station and it’s in the Shopping Loop. Room facilities is not that good, hair blower plug is shaky unable use. Towels not provided as per paid occupants. Need to request. Unable to do the make up for ladies as the Sensor entrance light is too dim.

The room was super clean and spacious. Cleaning ladies were very nice. The girls at the front desk were super friendly, some guys not so much. If you want to cook in the room, you can request some cooking pots, but they were overused and scratched. Their free breakfast is decent. Very nice gym with a peloton bike. Overall, I think this is good option for longer time stay.

The floor and bathroom were clean overall, though I did spot a spider in the corner of the shower—but nothing alarming. The downstairs common area includes an open kitchen with a communal fridge and even a crockpot, which was a nice surprise. There were also several games available, like ping pong and air hockey, which makes this place family- and couple-friendly. Guests are allowed to enjoy drinks provided in the kitchen. If you’re sensitive to noise, particularly trains, I recommend requesting a room farther down the hall on the first floor. Our room was in a quiet spot—I barely noticed the train, and when I did, it was more like soft white noise. Still, bringing earplugs might help if you’re a light sleeper. Overall, I recommend this hotel. It’s in a nice area, the decor is visually appealing, and the stay was enjoyable. Just be aware of a $120 refundable deposit (if no damage is done to the room) and an additional $50 guest fee. Knowing that ahead of time helps avoid surprises. I’m very grateful for the pleasant stay and would return again.

I was to pay 117 at check in per room. Hotel made me par 285 for something I didn’t have time to use which was tickets to attractions and that fee included a fee for checking out. ..49 a room for coupons snd 65 per room check out fee. Our car was too tall for the 85.00 a night parking but the garage at the corner only charged 58.00 a night. I wouldn’t recommend driving downtown Chicago unless you like being stressed out. I’m asking trip.com to reimburse the difference between the 117 and 185.
