Sonder the Burnham

Price and location were very good. Room was "rustic" with old brick walls but full kitchen a plus for long term stays. Bed was very comfortable. . Location was noisy in early morning, esp. east side (fire trucks, garbage pickup - need sound deadening windows. Sound comes through floor from above and walls - carpet, insulation? Tap water had an off-taste. Light switches poorly placed. Need 15# and 20# dumbbells.

Great location in relation to the train depot and El Station. You can connect to any of the el lines from the Clinton station and be at all parts of the city. The apartment was very nicely equipped with everything needed for a short or long stay. We had a little trouble initially entering the building but quickly became acclimated to the process. When we had questions, phone calls were answered promptly and issues resolved. Only negative we could see was that there was no chair or sofa to relax on, only the bed and a bench next to the table.

I apartment was noisy and we could hear noise throughout our stay. Sometimes, at 2-3 AM in the morning!

Nice place to stay . Close to our adult children who live in Chicago . Easy to find parking . Great shower , bed was comfortable. The temperature was easy to control. You can hear street noise and people above you, but not to big a deal.

Great location, right next to Union Station. I love the style of the room. I’m a big fan of exposed red brick. The only downsize is the laundry door broke, and would not close. So it made it difficult to get in and out of the room.

Great location Check in & check out was seamless. The studio had a full stocked kitchen that had all tools needed to create our contribution for Thanksgiving. It was perfect for our visit - will absolutely book again

The rooms are great and well kept but the building is not sound proofed and you will hear your neighbors above and beside you very clearly, even if they’re just having normal volume conversations. The customer service was exceptional and helped us switch rooms but unfortunately we had the same issue after we were moved. Not ideal if you’re planning on taking naps or relaxing during the day.

Staying at Sonder The Burnham for the weekend was such a treat! We took the Amtrak from St. Louis to Chicago, and the Sonder was only about a 10-minute walk from the station. We arrived prior to the check-in time, so we stored our luggage in the luggage room, and it was easy to set up the lock. Then we walked around the area to grab some lunch. There are a lot of restaurants within a 15-minute walk, and an Hmart was nearby to pick up some snacks and groceries for the weekend. The Sonder was also near most of the bus stations we needed to take to get to a subway line, and it was very convenient to get anywhere in the city. Our location was also a 15-20 minute walk from the West Loop, so I would highly recommend it if a convenient location is a priority for you. The Sonder in itself was clean and seemed very new. It is furnished perfectly for two people, and we had a handicap-accessible room that had ample room to move around in. There is also a wheelchair lift and an elevator. We loved how thorough the apartment was in providing anything needed for the stay-- shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lots of towels, soap, lotion, and a ton of kitchen appliances. We also enjoyed being able to watch TV with the Roku television. The luggage storage once again came in handy when we had a few more hours between our train home and check-out, so we stored our stuff there and went to explore more of the city. Overall, Sonder made our trip stress-free and comfortable.

Tidy, cute, modern space. Convenient to public transport and a great deal!
