The staff is wonderful. The housekeeping is immaculate. When I told them at the front desk that I was there for my mother's funeral, they gave me a free upgrade—which basically meant a king bed.
The facilities are a little rickety in places. My bathtub/shower had very little hot water pressure, so it wasn't possible to shower, only to patiently trickle a bath. (I'm sure they'd have changed my room if I'd reported it right away, but I was too busy to bother. They thanked me for reporting it before I left.) The electrical outlets are loose, so you can't be sure the devices you've plugged in are really charging. I discovered on the morning of my departure that my phone hadn't charged, and I then arrived at the airport without much time to spare (and charge), and got on a regional jet that didn't have outlets, so that was a cascading inconvenience.

Cool lobby, small elevator but functional. Small bathroom.
Thin walls and ceilings. It seems pretty loud, but that could just the the crowd that was currently staying.
Great location! Lots of stores and great little restaurants. We had an event at Lincoln Hall and just walked to It (just under a mile away).

Overall I was impressed with the hotel. However I would like to mention the over night drink desk personal had unpleasant, borderline offensive comments about my having a late night guest. Also my room (which was very nice) was located near a utility closet and the staff was extremely loud to the point where sleep was not an option after first shift started.
Otherwise the hotel was beautiful, clean, most of the staff was very welcoming. Excellent location!

The building itself is uniquely cool. While maintaining the vintage Chi-town architecture, the decor is a chic 70's style. Even the elevator had character. Adrian was kind enouh to upgrade us to a corner suite overlooking the bustling corner full of shops. We opted to stay another night just because of the nostalgic 55

Average hotel - good location. The rooms are very small, and the walls are a bit thin; I could hear someone singing next door. Housekeeping was rude; I had DO NOT DISTURB sign on my door, and they knocked before checkout asking if I had checked out—well before noon. Most likely won’t be back.
